Welcome to the Women's Career Mastery Podcast, the show that's dedicated to empowering women to redefine success and break through barriers. I'm your host, Christine, and my co-host, Laura, along with our amazing guests. and experts. We are here to shatter the myths that has been hindering women's career fulfillment for far too long.

So, if you're ready to master your career and take your life to the next level, join us in our journey together. The Women's Career Mastery Podcast starts now.

Hey everybody! Welcome back to part two of our 2023 year-end closing podcast episode. In this one, we wanted to talk to you about 2024, like what's exciting, what's happening, sharing our plans, sharing our programs, sharing what's possible for the coming year and talking about it.

We also want to share some tips with you for your planning and for your career. So, let's get started. Hey, Christine, just you and I again. Hi. All right. So, this is exciting. It's the end of the year and beginning of the year is always exciting because we can kind of look back and I believe the best view in the house or the best view that we can always see is from the hindsight.

Right. So, when we look back, we can see all the storyline and see the whole pictures. And then after we see the whole pictures, we get an inspiration that we can look forward for, vision for next year. So, for me, this is always, the best time of the year to, to be grateful about what's happening and what we learned so far.

And have this excitement of starting new with new ideas, new insight, new plan, new projects. And Laura, what will be happening in the beginning of next year for Women in Career Mastery?

Well, we're definitely going to continue with the podcast, but we're also going to kick off a new cohort of the program. And that could be up to 10 people in the program. It could be for individual women. It could be for a cohort of women from a specific company. We have the ability to scale that however we need to, but we want women who are ready to master their career, who are ready to do the work. Both the inner and the outer work.

Really getting in touch with who they are. What they want and helping to get them to that place. So, we're kicking that off in February. You'll see more about it. More details on our website, www.womenscareermastery.com. You'll see us chatting about it more on social media and sharing information about it. But that's a big one. Then we have a couple of other things in the works as well.

Okay, well people who don't know about our program, I just want to speak more about. So, we have the pilot what we've done. We started in September and now the first cohort is still going on until March. So far, we have three months in the program. Would you like to share what kind of growth that they experience?

Well, right now, because we don't do a measurement until the end of the program, the feedback and the insight that the women in the program are sharing are right on target with what we expected, like they're able to easily articulate who they are, what their strengths are, what their skills are, and have those conversations with their managers, with their upline leaders and find the things that they need the opportunities, the resources to get them where they want to go.

And they're just amazed that, like, the timing of things, like, they do an activity and it's completely practical, they need that information that they just worked on within a week, like they find that they need it and they need it ongoing. So, the activities are practical, they're immediately applied, and we're seeing that it's definitely making significant progress to these women and their ability to articulate and get to where they want to go in their career.

That's awesome. And I really enjoy listening to the celebrations that we have. We meet twice a month. And in those meeting, we have workshop, and we have celebration. And when they celebrate, it just, for me, it's music in my ear because it's so inspiring to hear celebration that we, as women, we don't usually do much to celebrate our small or big achievements.

We think that's regular. That's just common, but to celebrate it and share it with other women. That was amazing. Amazing thing to hear. Yeah. We have something called the brag. Statement in a brag book. We had a lot of fun with that, and the participants had a lot of fun with it. And it's something that they're continuing to do.

Because as women, honestly, do we brag? We don't, we just take it for granted. We just do, do, do all the things we have to do, whether it's at work or at home. We don't really take time to talk about all that we've accomplished. So, the celebrations and the bragging are big part of our program. Yeah, and again, so before we move to the next topics, if you would like to know more about the program, please check out our website, womenscareermastery.com

com and find even more information there. So, the next topic is, do you want to share your big news, Christine? Oh yeah. So, my big news, now I got to brag, Laura, go for it. All right, so this is my brag. I've been working on my book, writing book for almost three years. Three years in the making and finally, finally, I almost finished, and I will be launching my book in April 20th, 2024, and my book called “The Heart Space, Living with Grace and Ease in an Era of Uncertainty.” And I'm very proud of it because this, kind of work is like you have to come and sit and write and really focus on what I want to share in the world about how can we live with grace and ease, especially in an era of uncertainty.

Yeah. So, I'm excited about that and you will hear more when it's close to the launch. Yes. We're definitely celebrating that, Christine.

So more to come on the book for sure. I'm super proud of her. I feel like I've been working alongside of you as you've been writing the book and seeing you grow over time and your words come clearer and your thoughts and oh my gosh, I can't wait to read the book.

Yes, you will be one of the first who are going to read this book, Laura. It's like you wrote it just for women like us. Yes. Yes. Definitely.

All right. So, the next one is we want to share three tips for listeners on career planning or envisioning the new year. Do you want to start Laura?

I definitely want to start sharing tips because I think these tips are inspirational. These tips are more like guiding stars, like to carry you through the year. And I didn't think that that was something that was possible, but last year I went through an exercise to identify my word for the year. So if you think about, and don't overthink it, but like, think about what you might want to do next year.

What's the theme? What's the one word that just speaks out to you that You know, is something that is very close to you and something you want to do. And so that's our first tip. Like pick a word that is going to be your guiding star through the year. And we asked ourselves this question right before we got on to record this.

So, Christine, you want to share your word? So, my word, like, again, it could be one, could be two, could be three, but I came up with two words. So, for me, it's flow and magic. Next year. My words are flow and magic. I want to, every time I do something, I would like to remember flow. How can I be in the flow?

And if I'm not in a flow, I'll go back to it. So, because I want to learn something about how life works rather than, you know, working hard, striving or coming from lack. How can I live from abundance. Like if I can see that my life is plenty rather than less, can I be in a flow

And my other word is magic. Can I see more magic in my life? Because I think like a story about. If you want to buy a red car, you start seeing red cars on the streets, you start focusing on what you want, or what's out there. So, for me, I would like to focus more on magical or miracle that's happened in my life, so that I can go into the flow, I can be easy, and not to worry about, oh, I'm not going to get it, or I would like to see that things are easy and magic happen in my life, especially with my book launch.

And I claim that people, many people will read it. How about you, Laura?

So, my word for the year is growth. And that may sound like too easy, like, oh, you know, why don't you want to grow this year? But I want to grow in so many ways, not just me as an individual, but I want to grow my skills like in order to do the podcast, in order to create these programs, like Christine and I have to learn to use a lot of different online tools, we've learned how to use Artificial Intelligence.

Like we are learning and growing. Like our career skill growth is not over, like we're continuing to grow, but I want to grow my business. I want to grow the reach of the people that I can help the women that I can help. Like so many dimensions. I don't even know probably at the moment, but growth for me is, is my word.

That's going to carry me through the year, and I just hope it's like exponential growth. And isn't it exciting? So rather than starting from, oh, it's not enough or, oh, we have to make sure we ready for the challenges, but choosing words that excites you, choosing words that you want to embody for the next year.

So, these words are not just about. Goal or, you know, goal is important, but these words are intention. These words are things that you carry, that you embody to achieve your goal or in a way journey of getting you to the next steps and how you want to show up and how we want to see the world show up for you with these words.

And I think it's a, it's a cool thing to just have a simple word instead of, I want to lose, you know, 10 pounds or I need to go to the gym. It seems like a lot of work. It is a bit deeper, you know, and it, it doesn't have to be action or like mine is growth right now. But last year, my word was BE. And that meant for me at the time I created, it was just to be Laura, like just be authentic.

Don't worry about what people say. I listened to the podcast that we did on perfectionism. I listened to the one on imposter syndrome, it was just be me. And that was a game changer throughout the year. I didn't have to follow anybody else's rules except what was true for me. And it was a very liberating year. So was it like. A hard, something hard to do, but it was just something to allow me to be in the world.

Yeah, and I just want to bring it up because I feel the same way when we free to be ourselves. It just so much fun and enjoyable to do anything and that it's proved by the way. Laura and I work together because we are basically allowing each other to be ourselves, to be Laura, to be Christine.

And we bring our inner genius in a way, like, because we are the same, but we're also different and we bring our strengths together to create something very purposeful.

Let's get to tip number two. Tip number two is about activating success. Tell me more about. Yeah, I'm happy to. So, if you think about it, activate is a verb. You want to do something to get successful. So that could be very different for me to Christine to any of you listening. Right? How do you activate success for yourself?

For me, it's. creating positive good habits. So, if I want to do more episodes of the podcast, I may have to learn a little bit more every week. Like I may have to learn how to do things a little bit better every week. So, I might have to create a routine where 30 minutes a day I'm practicing my podcasting or I'm practicing a tool. So, for me, it's about habits. I don't know. What is it for you, Christine? How do you activate success?

I do like the words activate success because those two pair is not usually combined together easily achieve success was activate what that's supposed to mean, activate, and I felt like that activate mean the success is already there, but how you activate it, like, so it's a very different shift on seeing success, and for me to activate success, I need to know what success means for me, for the last three years, two, three years I've been learning I feel like there's a shift in me and I learn a different kind of success that I never knew before.

Before it's always about, you know, what society thinks about success and that's what success for me. But now since it's changed. I felt the need to articulate that for myself of what success means. So, in a way, because my success, the meaning of success is different than what I used to know. I need to be able to articulate it.

So, when it's happened, I know, oh, I have success. This is my success. Yay. I can celebrate it instead of like making it like there's nothing happened. So that's how for me, at least the first step to activate success.

Great. So, activate your success. However, you see right for you, find a way to do it. It's there. You just have to tap into it in our last. Tip. You want to share the last tip, Christine?

The last tip is “celebrate, celebrate, and celebrate.” Keep celebrating. That is our last tips. The importance of recognizing small and large victories is very important. And if you celebrate, that means you celebrated, you share celebrations.

And what I found is it's created a positive vibe. It's creating a positive energy to keep moving forward. So, it's a way of bringing more of celebration. What about you, Laura?

Yeah, really take the time. To recognize all the efforts that you're doing and celebrate them, brag about them, share them with people. If you don't have anybody to share it with, come share it with us. Any step that you take, everything you try, you have to give yourself recognition for that. You have to because it creates momentum and it's just like, compound interest on a bank account. The more little steps that you take, they add up to bigger things and they get you to the goals that you want.

And they get you to achieve the thing you want to achieve when it comes to success. It all counts. It all counts. We've seen it. We use it in our practice, in our coaching sessions and our coaching calls. And it really works. And it helps you to also think a little bit deeper about what you might want to celebrate.

And then you'll take action to make sure that that celebration comes true. So, it's a bit motivating in that respect, but yeah, take the time to celebrate all that you're achieving.

And with that. Let's celebrate and I hope you will be celebrating what you've done on year 2023 and keep that celebration because it's like for me even hearing people celebrate their achievement is really give me more energy.

It inspires me. It makes me happy, and it makes me feel everything is possible and we're not here alone. We celebrate it together.

Beautiful. Christine. Thank you. So, thanks everybody. Bye for now.
