00:00 Hi, my friends, this is Francis Virkovic this presentation is all about how to get your courses out of you quickly, and it's coming to you from someone who's created over 70 courses and coaching robots inside her business that is myself now, if you're not familiar with me, I'm the CEO of inspiringmonlife.com I'm the host of the Inspiring Live School podcast i'm the author over over 20 books and like I said before, like Content Queen, I've created over 70 offers inside my business. So I'm going to share with you something interesting by way of example. By way of the messy action example, I decided to show you what it looks like to actually action exactly what I'm speaking about in this presentation, which is creating courses quickly and I decided that I was going to create this presentation quickly.
00:42 I literally had this idea about half an hour ago. I wrote a page of notes and I'm going to show to you like what it looks like to take action quickly. And I want you to pay close attention to the fact that whether you think that this presentation is any less valuable just because I created it quickly, just because I didn't make myself look super perfect on some lip gloss, that's pretty much it there's going to be no fancy slides. And will you still benefit something from listening to this imperfect presentation? Ia hundred percent guarantee you will. And I want you to know that the same is true when it comes to you creating content and courses for your audience.
01:18 It does not have to be perfect oK stop assuming that things need to be perfect. They just need to be done. Ok? Done is better than perfect all the time. So I guess I should probably start phrase and start with sharing specific tips to help you get those courses out. The first thing that we have to address is that you're going to need to get out of your own way. You need to stop doubting your ability you need to stop trying to be perfect you need to stop thinking that you don't have anything valuable to share.
01:43 If you have any of these little mindset, let's just call them self sabotaging tendencies, they're going to hold you back. Ok, If you think, well, I hadn't really have nothing to share, that's special it's going to hold you back if you're trying to make things look perfect, you're going to be creating a course for the rest of your life because use a lot there's no such thing as perfection. And if you think that you have nothing valuable to share of you, you're showing up with a little bit of imposter syndrome. It's still going to definitely be a little rotting your back or it's like an unnecessary baggage that you're carrying along with you.
02:12 And today we can just choose to put that down because whenever it comes to creating, and I've been doing this for a little while, all you need to do is be a few steps ahead of your audience i always like to imagine that you are on the bridge and your students, the people that you want to help on the other side and what creating a course is all about is that you're just giving them a helping hand you just need to be a few steps ahead of them. You're going to reach out your hand and you say, come, I'll show you the way. Like, let me guide you to wherever it is that you want to go.
02:39 O Obviously, like if you are going to be creating a course quickly as opposed to taking forever and ever, you're going to have to learn the art of focus and clear thinking. O This is going to require that you stop overthinking every single thing that you do stop guessing, second guessing yourself and just assume that whatever's pouring out of you is what needs to be said it does not need to be perfect like I've said, just got a page of notes i'm not trying to make this presentation perfect.
03:04 If a horse trying to make it perfect, I'd be recording and re recording it over and over again and I'm just going to trust that whatever I have to share is going to resonate with something people and that's enough. So let's talk about the next thing on my page is number one, we've already talked about you've got to get out of your own way. Well, second thing you're going to do is come up with an idea of your course for your course. So I've obviously come up over the years with 70 ideas. I am not going to even try to list them all but if you go over to my website, inspiramonlife dot com forward slash everything, you'll see everything that I've ever created today.
03:34 And the best way that I have found to find inspiration for my courses is to be a really for my psych, an avid watcher of people, a good people watcher. And pay attention to the problems that your audience is struggling with in life. And if you're not sure, like you can obviously ask them what are you struggling with like, please share with me like all the struggles and I want to do the very best I can to help solve them. But ask the people in the life that pay close attention to the things that people complain about.
04:00 What are they nonstop whinging and whining about? And people are always whinging and whining about something. And your job when it comes to creating a course is simply to provide a simple solution to their problem. So this is where you need to put on your detective hat and you need to decide in advance oK, so this is a problem that I want to solve, so be really clear with that. And if people are currently at point A, what can I do? What information can I provide them with that's going to take them to point B? That's all it is like of course, is just getting someone from point A to point B.
04:30 And I'm recommending that you just document this process in a really clear, simple and step by step manner. Do not ever assume that people have all knowledge that you have do not assume that, oh, this is too basic to cover up like write it down step by step. If a problem is, let's just say how to create a course, you'll start like come up with your ID and this is what you do next and this is what you do next so you're guiding them along the way so that even once they've gone through the course, they can go back and say, oh, OK, this is where I'm at this is the next step.
04:59 So when it comes to actually creating sets your ID next year's you've obviously got to come up with a course creation strategy that works best for you. So because a lot of people have an idea and it's like, OK, I've got an idea, sort of have the information I had i had no idea how to create it. Guess what you learn along the way i also had no idea what I was doing when I first started, but I still was willing to figure it out and that's where you have to decide that if you don't know the answer to a question, chances are Google has that answer or YouTube has the answer.
05:29 But don't be someone who sits there and says, well, I have no idea i'm going to stay confused a confused mind, it's no action a confused mind does nothing. You need to absolutely go out and find the answers that you're looking for. Just like you're expecting that you're whoever is going to purchase a course from you wants the answers that you have to offer when it comes to solving your own problems when it comes to creating courses, like let's just say how to record i'm using Vimeo for this, but you know, I have to Google, like tell me some ideas, ask Google, give me some good suggestions for how can I record videos and I did that years ago and I stuck with Vimeo and there's also screen screen pal for recording presentation that go out there and do your research.
06:05 And the same is going to be true when it comes to creating your courses. I personally am with Teachable and you just have to find a course platform where you can host your course and I know this is probably so basic, but see, like I'm just covering all the little steps. Now, the thing that I wanted to share with you is that the first time that you're ever setting up a course, and if you've created a few courses that you'll know that this is 100 % true. The first time that you create anything is going to take the longest time to set it up. But I want you, let's just say, if you're just creating your first course, I want you to think about how you can set it up in such a way that it's going to be easy for you to replicate for when you're creating your future offers because the way that I've been able to create 70 courses and coaching romance and the way that I differ is that the courses are quite long and in depth and they've got video lessons.
06:52 The coaching romance are often in fact, 80 page guides where I'm taking them through step by step by step and, and then it always comes with some bonuses and so forth and the only reason that the coaching room maps haven't been replicated to a course, which is something that I could 100 % do is because I know that my audience likes to have it all listed out because there's some people who watch videos And it's like, I wish I had that documented and my audience shared with me with me that that is the way that they like to consume the content so I create both in my business and you need to do not only find what works for you, but obviously what resonates with your, your clients and your students and your audience.
07:30 So I'm going back to my little list because see, I didn't have a list this is messy action this is what messy action looks like. Once you've replicated, once you've created a course, come up with one that you actually really like that you can replicate. So when it comes to creating videos, I've got templates that I like. When it comes to creating my coaching room apps, I've got like a template that I like in Google and that just enables me to create my courses really quickly because I've already got that sort of hard stuff set up.
07:57 I've come come up with my branding, come up with a font, all that stuff is already taken care of so that next time I come and create my next course. This presentation is all about getting your courses out quickly. I've almost like set myself up for success. So with that being said, I think that if we're speaking about courses specifically, I think that it's important for you to come up with a course strategy that works best for you.
08:19 And over the years I have refined this because when I first started creating courses, I'm so glad I did this right at the beginning as opposed to later. But my two first courses were the signature big massive flagship courses. Your invisible crown has 10 hours of content in it i'm pretty sure your magic wand that replicates my coaching process is I think it's got like 5 or 6 hours i would never go back into it again i'm so glad that yes, I invested that time and energy. But in terms of is that what people are necessarily looking for all the time i think that truly believe that they're looking for a nice quick win.
08:51 They've got a problem, they want it solved. And so if you come up with a format that works best for you. So my suggestion might be you might want to have 12 lessons and each of those lessons are around five to seven minutes long. And then they might have 4 modules and then three lessons go into each of the modules. I'm just getting you to start to think about, OK, So what could you head get your head around so if the idea of creating a course sounds like really overwhelming, you could probably get your head around the fact that, yeah, you know, I could do 12 lessons and I can definitely do lessons that are 5 to 7 minutes long.
09:21 And if you're wondering, like, is that enough? Yeah like, I love short and sweet episodes. Think about the way that you like to consume your content and there's a chance that if it resonates with you and it works well for you, and you find that you get the most success from like really quickly in lessons and courses that aren't too long, that could be exactly what you could be creating for yourself. You could be creating for your student because I confessed to you that I was going to be showing you what messy action looks like. I had to press pause on that presentation because my dogs started barking they could very well go again.
09:52 But even still, this is what messy action looks like this is what getting your work out into the world, even if it's imperfect. Do you judge me for the fact that I had to press pause maybe you do, but maybe you don't. I have personally found that whenever I have shown up very authentically, then it very vulnerably that it often resonates with people and at least with my people. And I know that when it comes to other people showing up doing their imperfect actions, that obviously having lots of value to share with me, like I like that I want to be connecting with fellow humans i want to be connecting with real, real, real people rather than someone pretending that, you know, I'm so perfect look at me.
10:30 I'm perfect i'm not perfect. Ok? That is probably why my website was so successful in the early years because I never pretended to be a perfect parent. Ok. So let's continue on with this very imperfect presentation. So the thing that I was up to was making sure that you get that course once it's created out into your list rather than second guessing yourself and rather than thinking, no, I'm going to sit down and improve it. The courses that I created in the early years, I know that I look back and I think, my gosh, like sort of very cringy.
11:00 I had no idea what I was doing those early years. I remember creating these little slides and going into my closet. I recorded the audios in my closet and then I added them together. And only years later, some of the courses that really needed to be updated, I went ahead and updated it but I was so proud of the fact that I was brave enough to put my workout there. I was brave enough to show up and just at least try my best.
11:25 And what you're going to find is that your best efforts at this point in time might look different from your best efforts in two years time or five years time. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't at least try like you're going to improve. All of us improve that's why teenagers are different from 20 year olds versus 30 year olds like, we all grow older and wiser and the same is going to happen when it comes to creating our courses we're going to get better at it. We're going to get more proficient we're going to feel as if we're more knowledgeable and we've got more things to share.
11:51 And the thing that I haven't shared about myself here yet in this presentation is the fact that I'm a massive, massive introvert. And if you're someone that is thinking, well, I'd love to get my courses out of me, but I'm too nervous and too scared and to everything to actually go ahead and take action on creating a course itself. You could not be a biggest skater cat than me. I'm someone that today I've got over 500 episodes on my Inspiring my School podcast. And when I go back and listen to those early ones, I do like cringe a lot because I was so nervous and so scared, but I was willing to try i was willing to, let's just say, embarrass myself, but I didn't really care like I wanted to learn i wanted to learn and the only way that you can learn when it comes to improving your skill at content creation and improving the quality of the way that you do things is by being willing to give it a go, being willing to be a beginner in the beginning.
12:41 And then you just become, not that we ever become an expert i truly believe that Socrates said, all I know is I know nothing i always know that there's more for me to learn i'm never going to sit down and think that, well, I'm the expert. You know, I've created 70 courses you should listen to everything that I have to do, I'm have to share. I would never say that because I'm still learning new things along the way i'm still improving my process every single day. I'm getting better and better, just like you're getting better and better when it comes to your business.
13:07 Like who you were last year is probably different from who you are this year. And just imagine for a moment, limit that who you're going to be in another year's time is going to be to someone who's a little bit older and wiser. So my suggestion is if you are feeling a little bit nervous when it comes to selling your courses and you're thinking, well, I don't know if I can charge a lot to begin with, then don't charge a lot you might want to charge it at a lower price to begin with.
13:31 And I definitely did that in the early years in exchange for feedback like I didn't know what I was doing in the beginning, but I was creating a course of sharing, pouring my heart and soul into these courses that I was creating. But I wanted to know, you know, is this resonating with you, my students? And today I've had over 8000 students go through my courses, but I was always going to ask feedback and charge what you feel you're comfortable charging it doesn't have to be something over the top.
13:55 I've always been very reasonable when it comes to every course that I've created because that's just the way that I'm. I like, I believe in ethical pricing. I believe in having the things that I have to share with people into the in as many hands as possible. I used to be a private one-on-one life coach like over 20 years ago, and it's sort of like I stopped doing that i started creating courses many years later because I wanted to have my helpful advice, my coaching strategies that I know that work. I want them to be documented inside my courses and I imagine that that's the same for you when it comes to you creating your courses.
14:30 You want it to be documented and you want it to get into the hands of as many people as possible. And obviously creating a course is the best way to do that. Once you've created a course, you can sell it over and over and over and again over again, and be willing to sell it as a low price to begin with. That's OK like whatever you feel comfortable, whatever is a price, you constantly could say IA hundred percent % you're going to get your money's worth, 100 % that your life can guarantee that your life will be transformed as a result of going through whatever idiots that I created.
15:00 And something that I do almost at the beginning of every course that I create, what list I do now is reaffirm that they can do it. Reaffirm that it is possible for them. You've shown them the step by step way to get from point A to point B. You believe in them and now all they need to do is believe in themselves because this whole presentation is about how to get your courses out of view very, very quickly. Now, the way that I know that it's definitely possible for you is because I'm not a perfect person i'm not a Unicorn. I'm not anyone who has anything really special like I'm not, I'm not like a superhuman i'm not a superhuman.
15:36 I'm a very normal mom, got two kids. My son, my youngest son is in a wheelchair full time. So whenever he's home, I'm a care for him. I have my normal everyday, very full life. And even still, I find the time, I make the time. I make the time more than anything to create courses because I want to help people. And the easiest way that I can help an abundant number of people, thousands of people, is by creating a course like that, documents all my best strategies and then saying, are you struggling with this i'm going to offer it to you.
16:07 Here's the secret. You want to know how to solve that problem. Let me give you that solution that's what I feel like every course that I've ever created, I'm offering a solution. And I, you know, started course creating courses many years ago because that literally is what people wanted like people asking me how did you write 20 books how have you written 20 books? Let me show you how. I'll document it. How did you get a million people to visit your website in the first year that you launchedinspiringmonlife.com Let me show you how I'll create a course. Because for me to say things over and over and over again, like one to one i can't reach as many people as I can, like 8000 people i could not have had those 8000 conversations with people who are now inside my courses.
16:48 And coaching romance, like creating courses enables you to help more people. And is it possible to create many courses? Why not? Of course it is of course it is yeah you can create as many courses as you have solutions. And so I feel like I'm going to slowly, slowly wrap this up. I don't know whether I can go back. I might just cringe when I watch this because like I said, I did this very quickly. Less than an hour ago, I had an Idi, spent 15 minutes writing notes, but on my lip gloss. I did not brush my hair. I didn't my pages literally fall into the ground right now and yet I'm recording and yet I'm showing up and yet I'm doing what needs to be done because my biggest, you know, wish for you is to walk away feeling as if you can you have the ability to create multiple courses.
17:33 I know that it's possible because I've done it myself in the pockets of time that I have throughout my day and I still live a very normal life this isn't the thing that I spend ample time, hours and hours and hours and creating. Just have an idea. I take action, I do what needs to be done, I create the course, I launch it and so forth that is all that's all it takes. If you're, if you're sitting there thinking, oh, she's going to share with me like a super, a super special secret.
17:58 The secret really is taking action on your ideas and be willing to do it imperfectly. I used to always speak about the me B minus philosophy. You know, it's going to be B minus and I really have re revised my take on that. I always just think go for like C minus because a lot of people think well, B minus or B plus, it's actually really hard to to get, you know, a lot of people study really hard to get AB minus and I just figured just get something done you can improve upon whatever you've created over the years. You can prove upon adding time, but you can't improve upon nothing, cannot improve upon nothing.
18:33 And you can create as many courses as you have solutions to problems that people have. And if someone is sharing with you something that they're struggling with, why not share your expertise and your value, valuable advice and your golden Nuggets why not share them, like document them inside, of course, and then make that offer to help Every time you are selling or promoting a course, all you're really doing is offering to help someone.
18:57 You have a solution, you're offering them a solution. Whether they choose to take you up or not is up to them, but as long as they know it, like, oh, OK, Francis said like she knows how to manage her mind really well she's she can teach me how to do that she can teach me how to stop procrastinating she can teach me all these things. And the courses are there so at this point in time, with 70 courses and coaching room ups created, if someone comes to me and I can just lovingly point them like this course will help you or this course, or if someone says, well, you know what, have this problem and I have never created a course, you better believe that probably the next day or as soon as I can, I'm going to go out there and create a course to help them.
19:33 Ok because it's all about helping courses are helping people. And the more courses you create, the more people you can help and so on and so on and so on. So I do hope that this has been helpful i've been completely winging it, completely doing messy action this is messy action in real life. In real life, this is what it looks like to have an idea to take option i'd be really curious to see whether you've still got value from this presentation. Even though I didn't do it perfectly, even though I didn't have any perfect files, even though I took 15 minutes to write my notes.
20:04 Did you gain any value from it? So if you want to stay in touch, feel free to go over to my website, inspiringmomlife dot com forward slash everything. It's pretty much got everything there. Take a peek and you will discover there all the ways that I have helped my students solve problems oK, I have my detective hat on at all times. I'm providing solutions to the problems that people are sharing with me that they have because you better believe I'm going to do my very best to solve as many problems as I can inside my business and to it do it with a loving, compassionate way because that genuine desire is in me and I'm sure that you have that genuine desire inside you too.
20:40 Take care. I hope to connect with you at some point in time.
