00:01 We are talking video in this session, specifically how to pre sell your courses and memberships with these really simple 4 video scripts that I absolutely love to use for myself and my clients whenever we're trying to pre sell something or pretty much during all of our launches as well and they work so, so well so I am excited. Thank you so much, Kat, for hosting this awesome summit as well. And let's dive in so specifically in this training, we're going to cover how to build buzz and momentum around your offers using video, the hottest for scripts that I've been alluding to and then some examples of like selling courses and memberships using the scripts so that you can guys, you can you can see these really in action as well.
00:43 So real quick, a little bit about me my name is Alex, I live in Austin, texas i'm here with my husband, our two dogs we've got a Husky and a little a little dachshund mix as you can see in the photo, and my little baby girl who just turned 6 months old as well so we're here and I founded this company called Unscripted Moment, which basically helps online entrepreneurs just like you to get on video with ease and confidence and sell your offers really simple videos. And my favorite part about using video, especially now, is that it gives people the opportunity to see and feel and hear and experience you in real time and when you are selling courses and memberships, right, people are going to be watching a lot of content, reading content, hearing your voice, learning from you or your team.
01:35 And that means that they have to like you they have to like hearing from you they have to like listening to you. But like, if you have never ever heard me teach before, you're not going to go and buy one of my courses, You're not going to go and enroll in one of my programs because you're like, I don't know if that I like this person i don't know if I want to commit to spending money and then having to sit through trainings that are boring or I don't elate or I find this person offensive. So when you get on camera, people get that taste it's almost like that teaser of like what it's like to to to then be in your world when they're in that course or membership so it's so important now for you to be getting on video if you're selling something like this and so many people ask, should I go live or pre record? I am a huge, huge live fan because it's simple you literally hit the go live button there's no editing it's easy it's a 1-1 and done type of tape.
02:29 But you can pre record if you want it really whatever is going to work with you as long as you actually get it done. Ok, so these strategies that we're going to talk about today, you don't need a fancy editor. You don't need tons of fancy, tack, ring lights microphone, you don't need any of that. All you need is a social media profile to get your message out to your audience and then some type of camera audio it could literally just be your smartphone. These videos don't need anything complicated and funny story like how I've sort of discovered these really simple videos was back in 2020 I had a leadership coaching business and I was the person who literally swore I was never going to get on camera i was never going to use social media i was really against it i was going to do kind of everything in person.
03:16 The pandemic obviously happened and I was like, well, that blew up in my face. But I started doing these really simple videos sitting on my couch in my pajamas with my cracked iphone and that's how I legitimately sold my first high ticket 5K client doing these videos and I was like, wow, I am really, really overcomplicating so much of what I thought video was supposed to be and you can see this little throwback, throwback photo from like almost five years ago now, which is crazy.
03:50 Yeah, five years exactly actually, because it is January crazy. Anyway, you don't need anything complicated and the scripts that I'm going to show you today as well are how I sold my first hundred people into my video skills lab membership so I also have the self courses and coaching and all that. And what I decided to do before I open this membership, it's a 9$ a month membership that basically gives you coaching, it gives you a whole library of trainings and templates and scripts and you know, weekly video critiques it's, it's this really comprehensive 9$ membership but before I ever launched it, I was like, do people even want this thing? And so I ended up pre selling it and like I said, I used these four video scripts and this is what allowed me to sell my first 100 people into the membership, which at the time I, I, I truly did not know if anybody was going to buy it.
04:46 And this is how I know I, I ended up knowing, OK, this is what I'm going to do i'm going to go ahead and move forward with it and the video skills app is still around and it's like my main offer. Ok, so let's talk actual video scripts to use so there's four that we're going to talk about the start with why behind the scenes or show and tell the not so humble brag and the FAQ. So I'm going to also give you guys these scripts if you do want them, just DM me on like Instagram or Facebook, just summit scripts and I'll send you these if you do want them, I don't mind.
05:19 But let's go into the first script so this is the start with YVO. So the start with Y video is basically where you are sharing the deeper why behind why you created your product or or service, your course or your membership. And this is inspired by Simon, Simon Sinek he's the leadership guy he has this great Ted talk on basically why you should start with why when you're leading teams and building businesses. It's incredible talk i would listen to it if you haven't, but this is what you want to do you want to explain to your audience, why have you created this thing, right why is this needed in the market what are the points of differentiation why does this thing need to exist, right not just for you to make money, but why do why do other people need this? So if we're going to write out this script, why you've created this course or, or membership, This is the skeleton outline of what your video script is going to look like so I'm going to give you the overview and then an example.
06:21 So the first section is the hook or the crazy, not to say promised the hook is that thing that grabs people's attention and brings them into the video and just entices them, right this could be a question, it could be a statement, it could be a little bit of a a short story, something to draw their attention we know we don't have very much time to bring people in after that. We want to share very, very specifically exactly what they are going to learn if they stick around until the end of the video this should be 1 sentence so for example, at the beginning of this training I said you are going to learn the hot 4 video scripts that I use to pre sell or during a launch for my courses and memberships.
07:04 That's it 1 clear sentence you know if you stay till the end, you're going to get those four things. That's what you need to do in your videos you need that crazy not to stay promised so people stay until the end. After that we have the authority session this is like a quick I help statement, right or a quick intro to you you know, I help women in their fifties to get stronger and build muscle from home without having to go to the gym. What whatever it is that you do, call to action this is the next step you want them to take after watching the video so do you want them to go by your course do you want them to sign up for a waiting list for your membership? Like what what is it after that you want them to do? Ok from there, we're going to transition into the content that you promised at the beginning and that crazy not to say promise this is where we're just like, all right, let's move into the content.
07:55 And then the content anchors are where you actually share what you promised, right so this is like if you've, if you've promised, just like I promised to share the four video scripts, right? I'm delivering on that promise in the content anchors here. And then finally, we're going to wrap up with the call to action oK, so I'm I'm talking about this at a high level i'm going to give an example of what this can look like so here is a script that I use for my video skills at my 9$ a month membership.
08:23 Here's what it sounds like. All right, here's the hook. There's more content on video marketing out there than ever seriously, it only takes a quick Google search to find yourself overwhelmed with all the possibilities and advice. But if there's so much information out there, why is it so many still struggle to create a profitable, engaging video strategy In this video, I'm sharing with you the big reasons why entrepreneurs are still struggling.
08:47 That's why I created this video skills up probably 9$ a month. So I hope what you're observing through this is the hook isn't just, hey, I created a membership. It's talking about the industry trends, what's going on right now why am I creating this thing now i'm starting to allude to some of those things and that is there's so much information out there right now and I've created this membership to not just give information, but for some other reasons, right? And then my crazy, not to say promise is, you know, I'm going to show you the big, big reasons why people are struggling.
09:21 And then I've got my little authority section after. So it's real, real just bullet points as you can see, when I write my scripts, I'm not writing long paragraphs i just bullet and use this kind of as a as a little template. So I've got, you know, name where I live, dogs short thing about my company. So on these videos, people were commenting wait less and then I would go and have like a messenger conversation with them.
10:06 Ok, content segue. I'm like, all right, let's go and dive into the big three reasons you are not getting traction with your strategy that's what I promised at the beginning. Ok, Content Anchor one, you do not need more information you need help with implementation, right? That's why we have two live coaching calls weekly Q and A S plus community so I talk a little bit about why implementation is going to be a game changer for people who are struggling with video, what that looks like and you know, a little bit of that and then I relate to the things that I've created in the Video Skills app, Content Anchor 2, the best creators learn from proven frameworks and get constructive criticism from someone who's been there, done that and then from there, I give examples of how I'm doing that in the Video Skills app so I talk about the templates that can be worked in tweets Content Anchor 3, binge watching is killing your productivity.
10:58 And then I talked about in the Video Skills app how I have a guided approach, a playbook where you can figure out where you need to be and then only watch the specific content that relates to it, to where you are. So I hope this is coming together for you now and you're seeing a little bit more about what this can look like, how yes, I'm selling, but while I'm selling, I'm talking about industry trends.
11:21 And I am also talking to you about why this thing exists, why I've created something that's more than just OK it's about me making money it's really about helping the, the, the video industry and helping you guys on a, on a deeper level and how much thought I've put into what's going on in, in the industry right now. Ok, so that is number one i hope that really hits home with you number two is behind the scenes or show and tell. And this is where you basically show off your offer it is one of my absolute favorite videos to do because you get to tease your audience and show off this thing that you're working on or, or that you're thinking about creating right and this is like the not so humble brag where you're like, you can brag a little bit.
12:06 You know, we have the Nasso humble brag and the next thing, but let's this is where you can basically show off a little bit. Ok, so let's talk about the skeleton and then I'll do it another example. So we've got again that hook and crazy, not to say promise that we talked about last time where we're going to entice people, get them hooked into the video and then say exactly what they're going to learn if they stick around we have the authority call to action what are they going to do after watching the video and then in this video, we do have content anchors, but it's a little bit different it's really where you're going to show and tell this is where you're going to, you know, if you have a course, you're going to share your screen and show off the inside of it or it doesn't even have to be done.
12:48 It can literally be you showing the inside of the platform so for example, I used to like as I was building the video skills up when I was like, oh man, like people are going to sign up for this like I know I actually have to build this thing out before I like, I was pretty selling it i didn't have anything built. So I would show people the inside of the platform as I was building i would share my screen and show the different sections or I would share my slides or you know, some of the content that was upcoming for the membership.
13:22 And so all of that stuff is so helpful so it could be like I said, showing off inside of a course or a membership site it could be showing off slides, it could be showing off like a document that's in the program that you think will be helpful really anything you think is going to be just like piquing their curiosity that can show off, you can show off. Ok, so let's do an example. So this example is for just a membership i made-up feel like this is a name someone might use so do not come for me if this is like, oh, you know, this person's membership. I I'm literally made-up this name.
13:58 But if this is someone's membership name, do let me know. I think it's a good name. All right, so here's the hook and the crazy, not to say promise. Want to see behind the scenes of a social media content planner inside the social Selling membership in case you missed it, the social selling membership is just 27 a month and was created to make posting on Instagram simple, easy and fun.
14:22 One O 8 one of the ways to make your life super easy in the membership is with templates and planning devices just like the content planner in this video, here's what I'm going to show you, how to plan your content, how to organize your priorities and how to set your realistic goals. Ok, so this person is basically showing off one feature of their social selling IG membership where they're like, here's this content plan i want to feature that. I think you guys are going to love that I'm building just from this this is just one thing that I'm adding that I think is going to be amazing.
14:54 And then I'm stating really, really specifically what things I want to walk them through so I, I'm not just going to be like, here's the planner i want to have points that I'm I'm going through so I want to show them how it's going to be easy to play content, how they're going to organize priorities and set goals. All right. After that, you'll set your, you'll have your authority building statement that we've talked about call to action could be something like comment, get my planner and I will send you the link to the special pre sale where you can get 50 % off when you join the membership so again, all these calls to actions need to be tailored, but that's just like one idea of what you can do.
15:35 And then for the actual content, again, deliver on what you promised so this is where you can literally share your screen this person's going to share their screen and they're going to show off this plan, or they're going to talk about where they plan their content they're going to talk about how this makes a difference in organizing priorities and how this is so different from everything else they've seen online.
15:54 And like, where's the goal section everything like that they're going to go item 1 by 1 and on through those. Ok, cool, let's move on. The next video, the third video is the not so humble brag. I think the last video is a bit of a not so humble brag where you're showing off, but this one's like even more i want you guys to be like unapologetic or like, how good is this and my favorite quote, ever, i think, is you know, if you are afraid to sell, I am afraid to buy.
16:28 And that is the energy we want in 2025 you want to be absolutely unashamed, like, you know, how good your stuff is That like, it would be a shame if people didn't have it or your audience didn't have it. Ok, so this is going to showcase the top reasons people should buy. And this is the, you know, you know, really hitting on like, why is this thing you've created especially attractive for your audience? So here's what the skeleton Allen of this looks like so we've got a hook and crazy not to say promise.
17:01 We've talked about this a bunch we're hooking your audience and telling them exactly what they're going to learn in this video. You've got your I help statement, your call to action. And then the real differentiation point is the content section so this is where you're going to talk about the support you've included in Air Force or membership, the features that it has, the bonuses you're including, the price points, like all of the things that you're lagging. This is why this thing is so good it could be the type of content, it could be the results that you know it's going to get, like all those things so let's do an example of what this could look like.
17:38 This is again another thing that I've just kind of made-up But let's say you want to sell an 8 week like strength training course. So here is the hook. I know what you're thinking a quick YouTube search will pull up a million and one different workouts for free. Why the heck would you pay for a program? Deep down you and I both know that more free content is not why you invest in a program.
18:05 In this video, I'm going to share 3 unbeatable reasons why you should invest in the Succeed with Strength course and what most content content out there is missing. So again, what I absolutely love about this, of course I love it i wrote it. But what I think is really good about it is the fact that we're not just saying, hey, buy this thing we're saying, hey, here's what's going on in the industry we're making people aware of what's going on or shedding light in a problem, which has value in and of itself.
18:34 When you make people aware of potentially pitfalls, they're falling into ways of doing things, patterns. When you bring awareness to some of that, like that, that has value as well so we're bringing awareness to, you know, them using these free workouts and and educating them around why this may not be something that's working well for them or, or, or what's missing in that right so talking about this industry trends OK, authority building statement is, you know, help professional women build strength with simple at home workouts. The call to action go to the link in the description of the video to apply to join you'll fill out a quick form, then book a call with me to strategize on your goals and make sure the course is the right fit.
19:16 Again, you'll tailor this call to action to whatever your funnel and your process is. Ok, for the actual content at the beginning of the video, we promised these three unbeatable reasons why you've got to invest, right? So here's what it looks like so we've got the main difference being that there's personalization, accountability, there's support. Things don't always go to plan. We've got community calls every week to access coaches every day.
19:46 We've got features, a library of training with short videos and plans that are actually tailored to you. And then the bonus is the one strategy call so basically this person is talking about these three unbeatable reasons and also weaving in at the same time what's missing out there with all the free content that's on YouTube and every other social platform so it's a commentary on this idea of like, should you use free workouts but it's also you just like bragging on everything that's going on, OK? Last video We are busting through these last video frequently asked questions this is where you are essentially answering anything outstanding this could be live, this could be pre recorded.
20:28 I usually prefer to do this one live, but if you don't have an audience, that's cool you can just or you don't have an engaged audience like or you're worried that no one's going to show up you can also pre record and just have a list of questions ready or you can have people submit questions for this. I actually did an entire training on Ask Me Anything or frequently asked questions style sessions in December for my video skills i've been once super in depth in this. It's a really great topic but anyway, we're going to answer anything outstanding and kind of help the audience get on stuff.
21:04 And basically you want to be thinking, why haven't people hopped over the fence and bought what do I need to answer? Ok, so here's the outline, pretty similar to all the others i I hope you're seeing a pattern and there's a framework and a formula and a science behind this, right? We've got the hook and the crazy, not to say promise the authority building statement, the call to action, just like in the last three videos so I won't re explain.
21:30 And then we've got the contents. So this is where we have got, you know, where we want to basically address the FAQ. So regardless of industry, you know, people are going to have questions on the time commitment, they're going to have questions about the pricing, they're going to have questions on the level of support. How much expertise do you need what level in your journey do you need to be at how much experience and all that education and all that stuff. You have to look a certain way do you have to have any specific need or condition or what whatever like there's so many industry specific things that you can include and you'll know that either just by like you know your industry well, or people will literally be asking you if they're watching your videos, responding to your emails, if if you're reselling this stuff, your course, your membership.
22:19 So you can always add those questions in. Ok, let us do a example. This is a fun one. This is a dating app may course again, another one that I made-up So let's walk through what this one looks like oops. All right, so here's the hook and the crazy Nazi promise. I know you're looking for that special someone, you're on all the dating apps, but you feel like you're going to be let down right now you dread the thought of going to another expensive general where someone who just isn't a match. Maybe you're cringing at the thought of another boring walk in the park mini golf gone wrong bowling alley foray or insert any other cheesy date idea? You might even be questioning if your picker is raw, working correctly and need some sort of intervention.
23:08 I heard you it's why I created the Ditch the Bad Date 27$ mini course and in this video I'm going to answer all of your questions you've got on this course and how you can get in on this special presale I'm doing. I'm going through FAQs but feel free to jump into the chat and ask questions too. Ok I had too much fun with this one as you know and I'm I'm married now but I just channelled from 10 years ago basically everything that's you know was wrong with dating men. I think this should be a course anyway. What I love about this is I'm not just like hey I'm answering questions, I am painting a picture using some humor and giving them a little sneak peek or a little reminders is really what I should say of the life moments they have probably experienced already.
23:56 That is the reason why they are even watching this video, why they've even discovered me a dating coach in the 1st place right? So it's funny, the life moments are are are there and saying, yes, this is me. And then I'm very clearly saying, Hey, I'm going to answer these questions and you can ask questions in the chat too. Ok, then I've got my authority. So this person who's writing this is, you know, helping single women in their twenties and thirties find their life partner called to action shoot me a date at Adm with the word date night and I'll send you the link to pre sell the course to the to the pre sale for the course.
24:34 Ok, and the actual content. This is where you can literally just list out the questions you want to answer and maybe a couple bullet points underneath on how you want to answer them so it could be how long will it take to get through the course do I need to be on a certain dating app? Do I need to be a certain age for this to work for me how many people will do I is it do I have to have a lot of dating experience how quickly am I going to see results how quickly am I going to meet by person like, you know, these are questions specifically for for this dating industry.
25:05 So I hope you got a little laugh out of that one and are seeing a really good example of of what this one can look like. All right, so we've gone through these 4 scripts i'm going to go all the way back. We've gone through to start with why the behind the scenes are the show and tell, the not so humble brag and the SAQ. So just one caveat is that these scripts are going to give you the framework for success, but it is up to you to bring them to life like you can.
25:38 I can give you these scripts i'm going to message them to you i can give you them and they could still be boring and fall flat and not be great if your messaging and your communication skills and your audience just isn't where they need to be so make sure that you are, you know, getting feedback on them, make sure that you are, you know, taking time to to really make sure the messaging is on point. Ok, so a few considerations before we wrap up. Send all these videos to your email list too.
26:07 A lot of times my emails are centered around the videos that I create and my emails end up being super short because I'm just sending people to these videos. I kind of already said this, but your level of authority and your offer are going to impact the results so like you could have, you know, other than that incredible video, but if you don't have the audience there, you know, you're not going to pre sell. You could also have a really, really great or you could, you could have really great videos, but a really sucky offer and you could be like, oh, I'm terrible on video, but really your offer sucks so you got to make sure that like some of those other things are are in line as well.
