00:00 This is how to share your offer in a Concierge affiliate launch. I'm Kim. I'm a wife to Ben and a mom to four amazing kiddos they are currently 7-4-2 and six months. I'm a best selling author of over 20 books and I've been a writing coach since 2015 Here's the most important part for you today. I am a Beast Mode marketer. I can't turn off my marketing brain and my author clients definitely get the benefit of that. And today so do you because this is all about being the best affiliate host possible. And I love helping message driven authors to finally write their book so they can share their message.
00:50 Here's what you're going to learn today, all about concierge affiliate launching. What's the difference between a concierge affiliate launch, by the way that's really hard to say out loud. Oh my. And a launch with a bunch of promoters. How do you do this type of affiliate launch Evergreen and Live and why the promoter of your offer secretly wants to be in this type of affiliate launch? How to cash in and make and make a money making win win event for both you and your promoter And the best ways to get promoters to say yes a couple of terms just to help keep us straight 'cause when you're talking about affiliates, you're like, well, am I affiliating for them are they affiliating for me who, who, who? And we end up using the same affiliate term to mean both sides of this partnership.
01:50 So I want to clarify this just so we can both be on the same page. The affiliate host, this is the person who is launching you're the one with the product, the course, and you're the one who pays out the commissions. So for the sake of this training today, it's you. Then we have the affiliate promoter. This is the person who is sharing the offer. That's the person who gets paid.
02:18 For the sake of clarity, we're always going to call this host. That's you, promoter. That's your partner.
02:28 Now, before we dive in, let's remind ourselves the deal within a traditional affiliate launch. Because when you think about an affiliate launch, you're probably thinking a whole bunch of promoters all promoting the same offer or event. A great example is this summit. Right now, all of the speakers and the host are all promoting this event. A bunch of promoters, same event. And maybe in this type of launch, there are leaderboards to manage as the host to keep those promoters excited, engaged, and sharing.
03:10 Personally, I love it when my promotional efforts land me on the leaderboard. That thrills me. But as a host, that's a lot to manage and as a host, because remember, we're coming from you, the host. That's a ton of people to manage and wrangle to get each one to promote. So you have this launch and you want to have every single one of your promoters promote. So you're following up and you've created graphics and you're doing this and you're doing that.
03:43 That's an awful lot of kittens to get into a box. So this is from the standpoint of the affiliate host, the payor.
03:54 Now as the promoter, you hope your cookie is the one that gets used. So there are lots of us promoting this summit and there are some monetary things that can happen if you buy through my link as the promote or so I'm hoping that my cookie is the one that gets clicked when you buy. Maybe as the promoter, you put together a bonus for buying with your link. So when people buy through my link, they get something. And have you seen those giant promotions where all of the promoters are having different bonuses? And I'm like, oh, I'm going to buy that thing. I will shop bonuses. So I kid you not, about a year ago there was this promotion for a piece of software that I wanted.
04:55 I already had made the buying decision that I was going to buy this piece of software during this promotion and I was shopping bonuses. This person had a training that person had credit on their campus. This person had coaching around the software and the one I ended up going with was a friend who offered to split the Commission with me 5050 so it took a a really good deal on the software and made it even better. But you have to think when you are the promoter that people are also shopping bonuses so if you didn't offer a bonus, if you forgot, why would they want to buy through your link? And your email is 1 of dozens that a person might receive.
05:41 Ok, so we have covered traditional launches from both the host, which is normally you in, in our training today, and also from the promoter's standpoint. It gets complicated fast, right? As the host, there's an awful lot to manage and wrangle. And as the promoter, you're hoping that you are the one who gets the good stuff, the commissions they want, your bonuses, etcetera. There is a better way, one that lets you get more sales as the host builds goodwill with your promoter is far easier to manage, builds your list and drum roll, everyone loves it.
06:22 It is the Concierge affiliate launch. So let's give you a breakdown. It is you and 1 promoter at a time. So you, the host and one person is promoting your offer. Now, before you think like, wow, that's an awful lot of work. No, it's actually far less work and a higher probability that you're going to get paid. So stick with me because you can tailor your launch to that promoter's audience. And we're going to go into this in more detail, but the biggest thing is that it fits into the promoter's timeline. How many times have you, when you have been promoting somebody else, you're in the middle of your own launch and somebody comes to you and says, Hey, can you promote for me? And you're like, no, I can't do it this week, but if next week was available, I could totally do it and they're like, no, no, it's got to be this week.
07:20 And you both lose you as the host and and you as the promoter. Maybe you've had that from the promotional side too i know I have like, hey, I asked somebody, hey, can you promote for me and they're like, I can't do it this week. That's where the concierge affiliate launch comes in. Promoter number one this happened every july i run a multi, multi promoter launch to my signature course. And I reached out to this awesome person with a targeted list and she said, hey, I can't do it that week. And I came back and said, how about we do it Concierge.
07:58 So her her specific people needed it. A week later because of her own launch schedule, they needed it at nine AM Pacific start time because that's when she did all of her trainings. I could totally accommodate that. And there was a lovely overlap between her list and mine. This was a huge win win all the way around. Now, promoter number two by the way by the way, i have done this like dozens of times i'm just using these two as an example. Promoter number two her people work 9 to 5 jobs. So she needed a Saturday for when I was going to deliver my webinar and her people in the copy needed me to highlight a slightly different benefit for the webinar so that they would want to attend.
08:48 I never changed the webinar. I just changed the invite emails that she was going to send out. This works with Evergreen webinars, which is actually how I do it in my Evergreen webinar software. If you just go to the page, you can pick today or tomorrow and there's several different times when I do this as a concierge and I'm doing it to a single promoter, I pick a date and a time that works for them so as you can see, we had picked July thirtieth at nine AM.
09:21 And then that promoter has a specific event to promote to. And you know that that's always the key it's not an I can watch it anytime. It is you can watch it at this time that specific date time always works better. And you can also run this where you're figuring that you're going to do it live. No, your promoter doesn't have to show up. You are collecting the leads from their list and only their list and you deliver a bang up webinar.
09:51 I choose to do it Evergreen because I have all that pack of kids, but you could totally do this live as well. Your promoter can show up if they want to, but it is not a requirement. Tell them, your promoter, that they are the only person promoting for this date and time. This is how you get really good promoters 'cause you have to make this clear because you're selling the benefit that their link is the only one showing up in people's inboxes.
10:26 So just like we talked earlier, when there's dozens of us promoting for the same launch, I'm one of dozens that could show up in somebody's inbox. I kid you not, I was in an affiliate launch and the launch opened on Monday and I was going to promote on Wednesday. By the time Wednesday rolled around, I counted no fewer than 13 emails from 13 different people that were in my inbox 'cause there was a lot of list overlap. So I was kind of wondering, well, do I even bother are they going to ever buy from my link? So when you're talking this to your concierge promoter, the one and only, you're at their beck and call for any questions.
11:09 And no, that doesn't really mean that it just means that they're not going to get shuffled off into your email inbox and you are available for additional promotion, like being hosted to their group or membership during the launch window. Because you want it to be a win win. You want for both of you to make money. And so if you need to spend an extra 20 minutes in their group doing a quick old, you know, presentation, answering some Q and A 's, it is worth it for both of you.
11:41 Go do that.
11:44 You have one person to manage, one promoter, so you get to have lots of contact. And the way I do that is I give them updates on the number of OPT insurance or sign ups that they're sending to my world. Obviously, I'm tagging that in my software. So when I did this with Sage Grace then last summer, everything was tagged that it was coming in from Sage so once a day I could be like, OK, we're at 30, OK, we're at 60, OK, we're at 137 I gave her updates on the number of sales that she was getting, even though, yeah, she got it from my Thrive cart.
12:20 I also was telling her directly sending those emails, having that high touch. So she is getting the best experience possible as my promoter she gets that concierge feel and she is more likely to continue to promote this event and other events in the future. And custom graphics for promotion. Affiliates love this. They love it with their faces on your stuff and they didn't have to do anything about it. They love it as the promotion is underway.
12:54 As people start to email, you the, host about the offer, you want to CC the promoter when you answer, it shows the promoter that you're taking really good care of their people. Their questions and concerns aren't vaporizing into your inbox. And what that what that says to the promoter is, wow, this host really cares about my list, the one that I spent so much time and effort to create. Of course, I'm going to want to promote with them more.
13:25 When you see see that promoter as well, it also gives the promoter the opportunity to jump in and email their person who's having a question and help that person say yes. Sometimes that's just as simple as saying, hey, hey, promoter, I just responded back to Barb. Could you also respond back to Barb and say, yeah, Kim is great, You're going to love this course. Just that extra little nudge. Now let's look at really going above and beyond so that you both get paid. Promote your event as being Co hosted or promote it as class name for promoter by host. So promote this as 5 easy ways to write your book for Sage Grayson's list by Kim Galloway and a promotional graphic with both of your pictures and by the way, that is exactly how I did it for Sage.
14:28 Now, when you're looking at the swipe copy, you're going to take your normal affiliate swipe copy package, the one you already have put in the actual promoter's link. Double check it. But that way they don't have to. They don't have to hunt it down. Customize their copy if you can. So there's somebody that shows up in my inbox she never uses my name. All of her emails are addressed to Hey there gorgeous. So if that's how your promoter talks to their list, just take the 2 seconds and put it in there for them and then put the dates and times where they should send each email.
15:06 Your promoter should send each email. Make it idiot proof. Not that your promoter is an idiot, but they're busy and they're going out of their way to share their list with you. So make it that the lowest common denominator, their brand new VA who's never done this before, knows when to send the emails.
15:29 Once the cart opens. The promoter also needs to can send one to two sales emails, especially highlighting their bonuses. But you as the host sends your normal sales emails that happened to your during your normal cart closed time period. Don't rely on that promoter because sometimes they just don't have any more space in their calendar. They could do the 3-3 promotion emails to get to your webinar and then that was it. That's fine, it totally works. Now the host updates the promoter as sales are made, reminds them that they have a cookie for future sales we're going to get this to this in just a moment and answers any other questions that the promoter might have.
16:13 As a concierge, you want to have high touch, high touch, high value. Now here's how to really knock it off out of the park. You the host offers a least a 90 day cookie so the promoter can get additional follow on sales. There are people who have been in my concierge launches that have been making sales from my cookie from the Offer Plus. So they made their sales during the launch and then other offers that I do nearly weekly sales for the next 90 days. So if you shared your list and started getting sales and then got sales every week for the next 90 days, how fast would you want to go and partner with that person again? And then the promoter offers a bonus to their people when they buy during this launch.
17:04 If you're on Thrive card as the host, that is super easy. The host handles all the tech. This builds your email list, the host's email, list and it keeps it really easy for the promoter. Now, a quick cautionary tale. Somebody approached me for them to be the concierge, me to be the promoter, and they wanted me to do all the tech. While I am totally capable of doing that, why would I want to? Why would I try to build my list with my own people why do I want to do you get my list and I have to do all this work and loop in my VA? No host does the tack to knock it out of the park.
17:47 Pay your promoter promptly. I pay 14 days out of the sale after the sale, not once a month. It is 14 days after the sale because my my guarantee has expired. And yeah, that might mean that I'm paying my promoters multiple times a month. They love it. They want to work with me more. Go for it. And then make sure that you don't have a threshold in order for them to be paid. If they make one sale, they get paid. Make it so the promoter wants to promote for you again and again and again. Now let's talk about cookies and the promotion you need to do as your as a host.
18:37 Yes, as the host, you should promote to your own list that you're having this cohosted event with your promoter.
18:49 Why? Because sometimes there's a person on your list who's going to buy, but they needed third party recommendations to seal the deal. Sure, they were already on your list, but they were never going to buy from you directly. But they will buy through that promoter's link. So yeah, you might pay some money to this promoter's to this promoter's person who was on both your lists, but you, that's the only way you were going to get the sale. I would rather have 50 % of a sale than 100 % of just somebody on my list.
19:24 And yeah, I don't know if I mentioned this, but you want to make sure that when you're doing those longer cookies, pay promptly. Concierge service also means concierge payments so bump up what you're going to pay to 40 or even 50 %. It is worth it because the promoter is going to promote. So how do you find promoters? You ask them and don't just say, hey, will you promote my thing? Really explain that they're alone in the promotion. It is about the responsiveness of their list and the market match. So just because they have a big list, if they don't have a big list of your potential buyers, they're not going to be a great promoter for you and it's just going to frustrate you both when you are talking and asking for your.
20:17 For your promoters, explain that it's a concierge launch with all those benefits that I highlighted earlier and then work with their schedule. They need two to three days to promote it, 2, two to three emails and then that's it. The rest of the follow up, the reminders to come to the event, the sales emails, the cart close emails, all of that comes from you. So it's a very easy thing for them to say yes to. And if they want to send out cart, close emails, provide it, but don't expect it. And then make sure that the promoter will email because if they're only going to do social media, it just doesn't work.
20:53 You've got to get to their email list. Let's look at your next steps. I want you to download the free checklist that I've created of all of the copy that you're going to need for your concierge affiliate launch. And then just so you can get more of me, you can grab any of my products or freebies at the link on your screen. We'll talk to you soon.
