Meet Vivien
Hello Everyone! I’m Vivien, originally from Kent, UK, now living on the coast near Rome, Italy. I'm a qualified teacher, and instructional designer (that's fancy talk for - an approach to analysing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating any instructional experience in curriculum design), small business strategist, and, fun fact, I'm also a qualified garden designer, but unless you live in Italy, I can't help with that...Lol

00:02 Hello lovely creatives. Vivian here from Vivian's Creativity Lab here in Italy. How are we all today well, I hope OK, in today's class I'm going to look at using a vision board to create a stellar training. Basically, have you had the thought of using a vision board in your presentations or trainings or maybe in a webinar or even in a live training? You can share your vision board to the screen and you can be on the other side.
00:42 Ok, let's have a look then boost your webinar and live trainings with a vision board presentation.
00:54 Ok, so if you want to nail your webinar or training like a professional with a vision board, this is the place to be. Ok, as you can see, I've got a few. I've started a collage here. I'm on Canva and I created it in Canva. So what is a vision board, sometimes called a mood board, and how can you use it in your webinars and trainings? Well, it's a powerful visual tool that helps you nail down abstract goals into tangible motivational imagery and text for your webinars, presentations, and trainings, be they recorded or live.
01:47 You can combine images, photos, words, and graphics that represent personal professional aspirations and create a dynamic visual representation of desired outcomes of your teaching. As you can see, I've I've collaged together a few flowers here, a book, etcetera, with a couple of nice backgrounds.
02:21 So minimalist training tips create a clean collage layout showcasing top ideas for effective explanations. You can use simple icons, words and images to follow your main points in your lessons and use limited text for a fresh look. Also, it's a bit of a different idea. Instead of the usual presentation, you can have a collage of images and words.
02:58 Audience engagement techniques. You can create an infographic summarising effective engagement techniques using icons, mini descriptions and images, keeping it by catching yet simple.
03:19 You can use inspiring quotes from famous speakers. Use a bold font in a single colour against a light background to maintain a minimalist style. If that is your style, I find it best to use two different fonts, at the most 1 clear and another more decorative. This particular font I believe is Montserrat, and I will show you the more decorative one later on. Visual storytelling ideas showcase key elements of visual storytelling. Use simple graphics, for example here, here and the flowers again, alongside brief text explanations and a timeline. You can also create a storyboard, A storyboard if you're not sure what it is.
04:25 It's just a numbered a few boxes, numbered sort of one, let's say to 20. And in each box you write the sequence of what is going to happen next or what is happening in number one then what will happen in number two and sequencing it to the other.
04:52 The other boxes.
04:56 Ok, here's a simple vision board. Although there's not much text just here,
05:08 You can use your vision board to brainstorm training ideas, concepts, imagery, planning, even sales pages or your To Do List and also use it as a simple project management tool that can go alongside your usual project management software. You can also write the text or script for your presentation or live training in the boxes so here perhaps you would have lesson number one.
05:43 Here you could put lesson number two for example and then explain it through the images.
05:54 So use your vision board for colour palettes and fonts. Perhaps you want to teach your students about this for lists and formats, the lesson planning modules which I mentioned before. Keep your vision board on view to observe every day before recording it that way you'd become familiar with what you've thought and what the outcome will be. Also jot down the materials and software required, worksheets, links to websites and other handouts downloads you may be providing to your students.
06:44 Organise elements in a meaningful, visually appealing way. When I put these petals here, I didn't think the colour really went with the rest of the the vision board, but then I thought they they they stood out a little bit and jazzed it up a bit if you like. So I left them there. Ok, Creating a vision board for your webinar or training. You can also use a physical board, a physical poster board, or a digital platform. I'm using Canva in this particular case for the slides, the presentation of the vision board.
07:28 I usually use Canva or PowerPoint, but I'm I'm in present mode on Canva at the moment if you go, once you have prepared all your slides of the various vision boards, all you do, you go up to the top right and it says share and there's a button saying present and you can present full screen. What I then do, I go into my video recording program. I'm using Screen Pal and I I placed the screen power frame right around the the presentation slides and I'm recording.
08:19 Ok collectors inspiring images, quotes and words on the topic you are going to teach and select materials that truly resonate with the goals, benefits and outcome. Create a presentation using your vision board to teach each digestible piece of your Lesson plan. Don't try and cram too much into the vision board. It shouldn't be too cluttered, especially if you are teaching your course or doing a webinar. And as I mentioned before, you can use recording software. You can also record in camber and I used, I'm using Screen Pal today.
09:12 The psychology behind vision boards. Well, it's quite interesting, really rooted in the principles of visualisation and positive psychology, they activate the brain's reticular activating system, which helps focus attention on opportunities aligned with our goals, transforms abstract dreams into concrete, actionable objectives that can inspire both teachers and our students. And according to research, the majority of the population, I'm not sure which population we're talking about here, whether it's worldwide or or whatever, but it says the majority of the population are visual learners. According to this and many other articles that I found, research has found that 65 % of the general population are visual learners, meaning they need to see information in order to retain it, to memorize it.
10:24 Visuals add a component to communication that written and verbal methods do not, and that is speed. Studies have shown that the brain can process images and videos 60.000 thousand times faster than text, making image based communication remarkably valuable. So this would be great to add to your suite of products. A vision board class and I've got the citation of where I got this at lazy and Atlassian doc.
11:06 How to work for different learning types?
11:14 So let's summarise the main points on how to create your stunning vision board to deliver your stunning webinar, mini course or workshop. Gosh, I'm repeating all these adjectives here. But was it? Was it Hemingway i don't think you used many adjectives i'm not sure anyway. So how exact you can use your vision board to to teach your topic? Maybe your topic is how to use AI, You might be in the welding sector or design and branding. You may be teaching how to use a program or online tools.
11:58 So you could also add diagrams to your vision board.
12:05 You may be making and creating a spreadsheet or teaching your students to create spreadsheets or other kinds of templates that you might be teaching ideas for finance and or real estate or beauty and fashion.
12:32 So what exactly are we going to add to our vision board? First of all, I think we need to add our goals, both the immediate goals and long term goals. You need a timeline on when exactly you hope to reach these goals.
12:54 And that you can also put keywords to emphasize importance of parts of your board. You can write out or use visuals for ideas for slides. You could add quotes, keywords and power words. If you look up online power words you could probably see a few lists. Then you will need a planner kit with important dates and deadlines, possibly a project planner and a breakdown of subtopics, worksheets or quizzes. Obviously images related to your niche and brand and the colour palette and fonts that you are going to be using in your workshop for your course.
13:58 And last but not least, you also need a clearer idea of who your ideal client persona is. So basically this is who the workshop, it or webinar is for. It's best to have a thorough description of who the training is for, the demographics, where they live, how they live, what they like, etcetera you you'll need to do a bit of market research there and you can also add bonuses that you're going to give your students to download together with the links to the the page to download them.
14:41 And you can also add follow up feedback or coaching packages if you are a coach.
14:52 It's OK everybody.
14:57 That gives you an idea of what to add to your vision board.
15:07 Well, thank you very much my my tutors are intended for educational and illustrative purposes only. If you decide to follow any of the ideas in this workshop or any of the third party links, obviously it is solely at your discretion. Ok, I look forward to seeing you in my next training have a lovely day everybody. Bye, bye for now.
