00:03 Hello and welcome to the What's Hot Right Now Marketing Summit my name is Becky Nieves, also known as Becky the Cycle Breaker and I am a self worth and boundaries mentor for women who are looking to break their toxic family cycles, heal themselves, and then raise emotionally strong children. I know I'm a mouthful, but you're that's not what you're here for. What you're here for is what is hot right now in marketing and what has been working for me. So First off, my presentation is being authentic and using your human design and marketing. I will preface that with a couple of things one, I am not a human design expert i actually hired a coach for that.

00:48 My niche is obviously what my niche is, but I will say that things got a lot easier for me in my marketing when I kind of tapped into my human design. Now, if you would have asked me a year ago what human design was, I probably would have said I'd heard vaguely about it somewhere very woo, very whatever. I come from very traditional background. I have a degree in psychology. I was raised Catholic, no longer practicing and, yeah no, all that woo stuff, you know, it kind of wasn't for me i studied a lot of different religions, kind of played around with my horoscope, you know, all the dipping the toes in.  

01:24 But I did not really dial in my niche, my strategy, how I marketed until I realized what my human design was. And I am A63 generator so once I learned that, not only did it help me pivot my business, but it also made my life make a lot, a lot of sense. For those of you who don't know anything about human design, the sixth line in the profile is kind of like the role model figure.  

01:52 And the three in your human design profile is the experimental profile. And if you are a generator, yeah, it's kind of fun basically, I am the Doo Doo Doo all the time, constantly on the go, generally not stopping to take a breath, which makes total sense in my life because I'm Mama four i am a multi passionate all entrepreneur i have my hands in a lot of things and I will pretty much work until the point of exhaustion and burnout.

02:20 So now that I've learned that about myself, it has definitely changed how I run my business, how I structure my time and again, how I market. I did a really deep, like I said, I hired a coach to kind of go into this and one of the marketing strategies i had always thought that Facebook groups were kind of exhausting and I did not feel like nurturing my own Facebook group i know that that is kind of hot right now i'm hearing a lot of coaches talk about you need to group you need to warm them up there and then convert from your Facebook group. Except I always hated having a Facebook group, and I've always had one i've had one for a very long time through the different versions of my business.  

03:00 But it almost felt like herding kittens and I always thought because as a mom of four, I just didn't have the time or energy to, you know, kind of nurture another group of people because I said I'm a busy mom before. And then when I delved into my human design, I realized that Facebook groups are actually a waste of my energy. Not to say that you do not leverage the Facebook groups of other people because that is totally in my wheelhouse. But I, the way my profile works is that I do best when I talk and spread my message to people who don't even know me.  

03:34 And I'm like, great, I get to shout into the universe some more. But strategically, obviously using that and being on platforms that kind of encourage that broad audience, you know, things like LinkedIn and YouTube were what were suggested for me. So I just say all this to say that if you feel like your current marketing strategy isn't working, it may be something that you want to consider because once I figured that out and realized that I was basically doing marketing all wrong, it helped me personally because I reduced my own burnout and it helped me dial in my audience a little deeper and in a more strategic way for sure.  

04:16 And that has been an absolute game changer for me personally, professionally and it's really kind of like I said, honed in where where I want to be.

04:28 So that is kind of my spiel on the human design portion now, when it comes to authentic marketing, I have always said kind of proudly that I am a hot mess mom. And when I first started out in business, I followed other Instagram accounts of people who were killing it and my niche at the time, I wanted to come in as a virtual assistant and I looked at all these pretty polished, you know, color coordinated Instagram, you know, accounts. And I tried to emulate that. And that was a huge crash and fail.  

04:59 You know, I think that when you try to emulate the person that you so badly want to be, you forget who you are in that process and I am all about authenticity i mean, that's why I do what I do, being a cycle breaking coach and it was super hard for me and I realized that I was actually perpetuating some of the patterns that I was helping my clients break now in that just trying to fit in, please, everyone, do whatever it takes to get the clients, get the number of followers, the likes, whatever the engagement because we want that quick dopamine hit validating our existence and our business existence, right? And we kind of have to learn how to not do that.

05:40 And for some of you, it may just be coming from a fear of needing a return on investment and some of the things you've invested on and I get that because I feel that very much myself. And it may also stem from, you know, a very old wound from childhood where you might be the fixer, the people pleaser and now here you are building your business in the same way that you were brought up, and you're going to find that it feels draining, exhausting and not aligned with who you are.

06:11 And as soon as I threw all of that out of the window and showed up like me, this is generally how you will see me on any given day i, I love, I'm a hoodie girl, actually, I'm a proud Marine mom. And this, this is me. You know, actually I have the virtual background on because right now backgrounds a little bit of a mess and I didn't want to scare you all too much, but you know, I've had videos come in where I'm trying to record and one of my kids is in the background or they're asking for a snack.

06:42 And I think that in a time of AI and perfectly curated presentations and, I don't know, professional photo shoots and all the things people just want to see real, like they want to see the messy, the ugly, the, hey, I tried this this time and it didn't work and I'm going to be honest with you and say it didn't work. You know, I am the person who realized there was something wrong with my family and decided I'm going to get a psychology degree and figure it out, right? Needless to say, I did get the degree i did not figure out my family. And it took a few more decades until I could actually figure out what was going on and how to heal myself.

07:23 So you need to be very strategic I think in both authenticity and just keeping it real. Like I said, trust in the business world right now I think is at an all time low, particularly if you are in the coaching space because so many people you know since 2020 have put out a coaching program, a high ticket, you know, ten thousand dollars to work with them or masterminds. And I think people have been burned, you know, I know I have been burned. So just being real and being open and being honest, you know, you should definitely, you know, over deliver on all the things that you do.  

08:02 And again, you know, if you mess up, say you messed up, I'm a big proponent of that you know, when I do something wrong with my children, I apologize. And I think the same thing can be applied to the business world i think people like I said, they want authenticity. They want to know that they are talking to a real person and not an AI bot or somebody's canned VA generated DM script. I mean, I was Ava previously and yes, I did the whole DM scripting thing and now when it's used on me, I can see it about, you know, 100 miles away i'm like, OK, this is not the person whose account this is.

08:43 I'm talking to their VA. And sometimes I even apologize i'm like, look, like, I know you're doing your job i get it but you know, I've already hired a coach or this or that. And I think people appreciate the honesty i know I do i don't want to be sold to i want to have a relationship built and that is kind of what I am going through now and moving my business going forward.  

09:09 And I hope that this was super helpful for you and I hope that it helps you propel your business forward. And one more thing that was a huge revelation to me that I just kind of want to pass along and share is stop believing that you're going to scale to six figures in 90 days. I know a lot of coaches out there and don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's happened i've seen it happen to people, but I think we need to be very mindful that that is not the case for everyone and it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, investing in yourself and doing the inner work before you can just go out there and slap out an offer.

09:45 So my key takeaways for the day, for today, we're obviously human design. I'm still totally new to that and learning it, but it's been a huge boon for both my professional and personal life and authenticity people just want to see the blooper reels the you know, I mean, there's a reason why I think tik is so successful and one hundred so thank you again for listening here to my presentation, and I hope that this has been super helpful to you.
