Jess [00:00:01]:
Welcome to He Speaks, I Obey, a podcast of Bible backed affirmations and reminders for the growing believer. Today's affirmation is God's plans are always greater than ours. God's plans are always greater than ours. Jeremiah 29:11 14 says for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans of welfare, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. We all create plans where we think where we'll be in the next five years. And when things don't go as planned, disappointment, frustration and even identity crisis creeps in. But Jeremiah 29:11 14 reminds us God's plans are not just different, they are greater, expansive and ever changing.
Jess [00:01:06]:
He knows every part of the plan and even the contingencies.
Jess [00:01:11]:
We only see the slice that is today and yesterday. When your plan seems to fail, it's not a failure. It's often a divine redirection. Now, you have probably heard this scripture.
Jess [00:01:28]:
But when you're in the middle of.
Jess [00:01:30]:
It or on the verge of a failure, it doesn't hit as it needs to. It doesn't comfort as you read it. God promises you a lot, but he never promised your will would be done. His plans are for the purpose of your life, not the cushion you want. Your thoughts have to be aligned with your purpose. If they aren't, you will continue to come against God every time you commit your plans to the Lord. How could we expect it to work.
Jess [00:02:10]:
Out when we're submitting our plans to the Lord? On the other hand, you might feel as though you're doing exactly what God.
Jess [00:02:21]:
Told you to do.
Jess [00:02:23]:
And every time you turn around, every time you breathe, there's something going on, there's something going wrong. There's something else. God never promised it would be easy. But he did promise to give you an ending that you have longed for. He promised to keep you, provide and protect you, to love you. We see this in Daniel 1, 18, 20, Daniel and three others. After being given wisdom, all the literature, and Daniel was given vision and dreams. They were found in every matter that.
Jess [00:03:07]:
The king questioned them, tried to trip.
Jess [00:03:10]:
Them up, tried to get them to fail.
Jess [00:03:13]:
They were always 10 times better than anyone else. But that wisdom didn't keep Daniel from the lion's den. It didn't keep them from having a life, going through things that God didn't intend for us, but were in the plan for our purpose. No matter what, you come up again. God also promised, I will restore you the years that the swarming locust has eaten the Hopper, the Destroyer and the Cutter My great army, which I sent among you, you shall eat in plenty.
Jess [00:03:57]:
And be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you and my people shall never again be put to shame.
Jess [00:04:09]:
Your purpose can't only bear fruit.
Jess [00:04:12]:
No matter how much it takes out of you, it will all be restored. How can we reach this level while in the middle of it? How can I remember all of this while I'm in the middle of it, While I'm fighting through, while I'm fighting suicide, I'm fighting the hatred that I have for the people in my life who are supposed to love me, the pain in my heart of the broken marriages, of the lost child, of the miscarriages. This. This has to be a plan. I plan to have a family. I plan to be married. I plan to.
Jess [00:04:55]:
I plan to Jeremiah 29 in verse 12 and 13, let us know exactly what to do.
Jess [00:05:05]:
Pray.
Jess [00:05:06]:
Seek God through His word and surrender your heart. Which means you may have to discount your emotions where you should discount your emotions. Why do I say that? Think about the last time you trusted, how something made you feel but you but didn't align with what God told you of the Word didn't work out.
Jess [00:05:31]:
Disaster. Hurt.
Jess [00:05:33]:
Unnecessary. These are some of the feelings you may have felt in that time, right? Your emotions can only steer you in the direction you have already been while God is calling you to a purpose you have never seen and a harvest you have never tasted. This is why most never make it to see the fruit of their labor.
Jess [00:05:57]:
Their labor being in their purpose towards their purpose to bring it to life. It never looks or feel how it should. The road may have a lot of boughs and bends, but you're never broken. Luke 11:9, 10 if we submit and seek God on our plans, visions and dreams, we will always receive what God has for us. Another and will not God give justice to his elect who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? Luke 18:7 if you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:14 the evidence affirms us that God is going to do the best by us. No matter what we feel, no matter what we see, no matter what we've been through, no matter what our experiences have taught us, have shaped us, have hurt us, have broken us, have brought us back. He is always for our good.
Jess [00:07:20]:
Even when the plans we make for ourselves aren't for our good, he still uses it for our purpose. Stay with God. Don't go without Him. His plans are always greater Bigger than we could have ever imagined. Fuller than we ever felt. And we want the great because we weren't called to lesser. So let me ask you, where are you clinging tightly to your own plan? Where have you been frustrated that life.
Jess [00:08:00]:
Doesn'T look the way you thought it would?
Jess [00:08:03]:
Let's shift that thinking. Let's release control and come into agreement with God. Instead of saying, why isn't this working? Pray, Lord, show me the greater plan you have for me. Encourage me, God. Show me that I'm on the right path. Write down one area where you've been holding on to your own timeline or outcome. Then while you look at it, speak.
Jess [00:08:37]:
This God, I trust your greater plan in this. Let your will be done, not mine.
Jess [00:08:45]:
You are the Alpha and the Omega.
Jess [00:08:47]:
Who created me with a purpose and a plan to go with the purpose. Plans to prosper and not to fail. I put it all in your hands, Father. Thank you for knowing the plans I cannot see. Thank you for loving me even when I go against you. When my plans fall short, remind me to trust yours. Show me the step I am missing or dismissing. Today I release my way and I walk in the future and hope you have promised your plans are always greater than ours.
Jess [00:09:28]:
Amen. Carry that with you today. Write it down. Put it somewhere where you can see it until it becomes second nature to your belief. God's plans are always greater than ours. Until next time.
