Look at Oprah Winfrey as well, look at Tony Robbins. What do they all have in common? They all have their focus on speaking they all are speakers.
01:31 You look at like things like the diary of a CEO what are they doing? They are speaking. And that is a major thing and here's the thing that no, they know something. And I, and I said, and I stress this nicely, they know something that most marketers, most business owners, most coaches, entrepreneurs don't know. And that is that marketing is secondary to visibility because when you're the one being heard, when you're the one being seen, when you're leading the conversation, right? That's when money actually follows. That's when things change. But most business owners, right, you find yourself in this, and I like to call it the Dine in Dash, right because it's almost like, you know, you go into a restaurant and you're like, you know, you've seen this in the movie so people are like, Oh my gosh, they they go into the restaurant and they can't really pay for the things and they like they're eating and buying the best course meal and they're out and they're out the door, right? And I'm not saying that you guys are like buying the best course meal and God, but you're creating this amazing looking Instagram posts and carousels and all this kind of thing, and you're dropping this amazing content.
02:35 And then here's the thing you disappear you, you're like, you literally like ghost the content you're like, Oh my gosh, I'm hoping on your fingers look like as a closing things and you're just hoping that it actually works, right? But let's be real the number one way right now to make money is actually to be visible. There's no more hoping, no more posting, no more praying, right? So today I want to show you why visibility is the fastest way to cash and how you can you speaking to get more clients, more cells, more impact without a huge audience or even complicated tics and trying to figure out funnels and all this kind of thing right.
03:09 So now some of you, I know you might be saying like, who is this woman that just came out like came out to direct like who like where am I what has happened well, I'm Cindy Pat and if we haven't met before, Hi, nice to meet you. And there's one thing you need to know like let me tell you this. I don't do fluff i don't do fillers i don't do things that I was just like, oh, valley for the sake of valley, but not actually no substance, nothing behind it, right? And the reason being is I've got 4 kids i'm a wife and mum and I've got 4 kids and I homeschool them.
03:38 And if there's one thing that I've learned from homeschooling is that you cannot give like I cannot, if I don't get straight to the point, I can't get my kids to actually focus because I'm like, mom, this is taking too long like is there a point to this like what are we doing where are we going with this right? So you lose your audience really quickly and that's the same thing that I bring into my business. I don't want to fluff around, right so it's the same thing in the same business with it's what you offer if it doesn't solve a problem quickly, people move on they scroll past, they like, I don't know this, like I'm gone, I'm gone, right? So today I'm going to be treating this like our private, like a private coaching system if I'm with one of my clients that's paid me over ten thousand dollars to learn this, for me to actually explain to them what's actually going on and how do we do it, I'm going to take it just like that so I want you to get a pen and paper, take notes we're going to go fast we're going to go, we're going to go really hard, but you're going to walk away with some actual steps and knowing exactly how to turn your speaking engagements into cells so here's what we're going to cover, right? We're going to know where to find speaking opportunities, where to find it, what to say and how to actually turn that into cash.
04:46 Because by the end of this, you won't just understand why speaking works, you'll also know how to use it to actually make money right now, right? And here's the thing, speaking hasn't always been my thing even though my parents might would say, oh, I'm a chatterbox kind of a thing, it's not always my thing i used to be, I started out in customer service and I was making about forty five thousand dollars a year and I know in today's economy, forty five thousand thirty five thousand dollars is not going to get you really far.
05:10 And don't get me wrong, I absolutely honestly loved working in customer service, loved working in the training department i got to train and create the training manners and train the trainers, right? But deep down, I knew that I was mean for more. Deep down, I knew that I wanted to do more, create more. And I want a financial freedom to do that and I wanted to create something that actually worked for me. I actually wanted to have something that allowed me to actually spend time with my children.
05:39 So I started an E commerce business and I sold it and then I did it again. And I've actually got like photos of my son when he was when he was a little baby with me sending out orders in E commerce and building that up right. And I did it over and over again but I looked at it going, you know, every time I had this nag, you feel like there has to be an easier way to make money. There has to be way, an easy way to do it because right now I'm relying on launches and other partners and you know, stock, stock is to come in and it's just with endless text setups and it's like, there has to be a better way there has to be another way and then it happened and I've got my first speaking opportunity now it wasn't a big stage it wasn't like a Ted talk or anything like that it was just a small room, right? Small room at a, at an Expo.
06:29 But I walked in there, I shared my knowledge and I made an offer. And the surprising thing happened. Clients came to me. It was the first time in business. I wasn't chasing leads. I wasn't phoning off to people. They were actually coming up to me. They were actually telling me things that, you know, sparked moments in them. And that was when I actually realized like, Oh my gosh, speaking isn't just about impact.
06:53 It's actually, I have a way of actually making income from it. And if it's done the right way, it's going to be, it can become the fastest way to actually scale, right and I was like, wow. Because you know, there's so many times people think about, Oh my gosh, just motivational speakers and that kind of thing. But there's so much more to speaking. So right now you're probably going, OK, Cindy, what like you're talking about speaking, but where do I even speak like, how does this like how do I even do it so we're going to go to the whiteboard for a little bit we're going to go to the whiteboard we're going to go trust the whiteboard because we we go to school now we're going to go to school.
07:25 So there are three ways that you can actually speak there's three, three ways I go. The first way is that you can borrow, right you can borrow, borrow an audience and then we're going to look at number two and number three so the first right is to borrow an audience and what I mean by that is actually going on somebody else's audience, going on somebody else's platform so you're looking at somebody that has your ideal clients and here's the key here.
07:49 You need to go to somebody that has your ideal clients, your ideal audience, right? So that can be on a summit that can be a web, an event like this, right that is a borrowed. It's a borrowed audience, right? An event like this, it could be podcasting, it could be seminars, it could be networking. There's a whole range of things and it's basically looking at collabing with somebody else, right? Look at Dari of a CEO. The speakers that come on there, sorry, are borrowing that audience.
08:19 They're borrowing that audience. The next thing that you can do is invest. Invest in visibility. A lot of people have a thing about like investing. Don't actually be scared of it because invest according to what you can afford, investing according to where you are in your business and the return that you're going to see. I remember Myron Golden once was saying when I was learning from him and he said he, I think he paid, if I'm not mistaken, like 5000$ to be on a podcast and he made two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. I'm like, I'm not going to quote on that numbers, but I know he like he spent money and then I think he had another like fifty thousand dollars to be on a podcast, something like crazy like that.
09:00 But the money that he made on the back end of it was well worth it that he would do it again and again and again and again, right. So investing is can be the most lucrative it can, but it's just the same as borrowing it is just you're looking at things like sponsorship, you're looking at things like banners, you're looking at speaking like paying to speak at somebody elses event or paying to speak at somebody elses podcast, right? It's paying to play, right? And the next thing is party.
09:30 I like to call it hosting a party, kind of like, you know, when you're in high school and every like the popular kids are having the party or the influencer having the party, right, instead of waiting for them to invite you to the party or opening up an investment to the party, create your own party, create your own event, correct? Create your own event, right? And then invite other people to that event or speak on it and that could be something like you're doing your own summit, you're doing your own challenge, you're doing your own webinar. There's so many ways that you are actually hosting your own party that a lot of people don't look at, they don't see as like, oh, actually, but here's the thing i want to, I want to say this to you, you know, every time you like pick up your phone, right? And you're like, OK, I'm going to go on Facebook live and you're like, Hey, guys, editor and you'd pick up your phone to go on Facebook Live or you go on Instagram live, right? That's a platform that is a platform that is a speaking opportunity that you have right there.
10:24 And how many people do you know that go on Facebook live and they make money from it look at tik tok shop right? That is a platform that they're speaking that they are doing things on and they are making money, right? So you're not just limited to, you know, traditional things if I need to go to a venue and speak over there, there's so many ways in this day and age that you can actually speak that you can actually make money.
10:50 So the next thing is like, OK, so now you're like, I know where to, I know where to, where to where I can get an audience from. But the next question is what do you actually say because at the end of the day, it's not just about you showing up and going, oh, OK, I'm going to talk right. You need a way to actually take that talk and actually make it in something that's going to give you bang for your buck, right? Because at the end of the day, I'm all about creating Evergreen assets.
11:15 Every piece of content that you create, every talk that you create needs to be an asset that is working for you because you are paying for that. And a lot of people don't look at this, but when you create a post on Instagram that you actually are paying for it and I know some of you are going to go, no, I don't i just like tap on my phone and pay. Here you are, your time, the time that you took to craft it, the time that you took to write it, the time that you took to think about it, that is all costing you money and it's costing you in the most valuable asset that you have.
11:44 It's costing you your time. And time is not replaceable. You cannot replace your time. Once that time is spent, once that minute is spent, it is gone. However, if you spend money that you can actually make over and over again. So the first thing so we've got 5 things that a good talk should have. And that is first thing you need to have a clear topic like what is the problem? And I'm going to say topics, I'm going to go problem because it's your your actual talk or the problem that you actually solving. So for me, it is business owners that actually want to make more income in a short space, space of time.
12:23 They want to actually make maybe what they make in a quarter in a weekend or in a week, right? And it's, it's collapsing time. So I'm collapsing time we're showing them a different way of actually making income, using their voice to make money instead of actually just leaving money on the table so you want to have a clear problem that you're solving. The second thing that you want to do is you want to actually inspire sorry, inspire and that you inspire through story through story. So you, we've all heard of the year's journey. You want your audience to see themselves in it you want to share with them the struggles or where you've been or how you've been or you know, so that they can actually see themselves in it or see themselves in your client's journey as well.
13:06 But you want to inspire somebody so they can actually go, wow, OK, if they can do that, then I can also do that, right? My handwriting guys like let's, let's not go into that. The next one is educate. And this is the one that trips a lot, a lot, a lot of people out, especially if you're new into the space and new into the industry it's something that I see time and time again. And the reason being is we live in an age of Chachibichi, Grok, Gemini, you name an AI thing out of there and we live in the world of Google, YouTube, Tech talk, Instagram, Facebook, you know, all these devices, all these platforms, all these things, Amazon that we can actually get information and drop ahead like I've got books behind me like these books, I can grab a book.
13:54 Normally we do not lack knowledge. We do not lack education, right? So when it comes to educating your audience, a lot of times there's this thing of like, OK, I need to give more value more, more, more, more, more. And all that you end up doing is you're bombarding your people with so much information that they can't actually execute, right? Because now you've got so much information and now you've taken down so many notes and you're like sitting here going, OK, I've got like stacks of papers of notes. Ok, now what do I do, right? And therefore you're like, but Cindy, why didn't they convert why didn't they go into a cell? Because you've given them so much information that now they don't know what to do with it so what you want to do in the education piece, you want to focus on solving one problem with one to three things, with one to three things that they can execute right now.
14:45 And I say one to three things because it depends on the time that you have. It depends on how long your talk it depends on how much time that you have to spend with them will determine how many pieces of education that you actually give and that your audience can actually retain and then go away and implement right. So you don't you don't want to fire hose them with information you want to give them enough information so that they can actually take actionable steps, but not so much that they said in there going, I'm a kind of like a deer in headlight, Like we don't want those kind of moments, right? And then the next thing is a CTA.
15:18 You need to have a call to action you need to tell them what the next step is because they're not going to guess it they're not going to figure it out that oh, you want them to jump on a call or oh, you want them to download something. We need to lead our audience. We can't expect the audience to just lead themselves. We need to lead them on what the next step is in the journey.
15:38 What is it that they need to do and how they're going to need to do it right Then after you've got that you need the urgency and I like to call it why like the why now the why now like why do they need to take action now? Why is now different than, you know, 1010 days from now? Why is it different from 1-1 week from now, right? Why do they have to take action now? And that's because you know, you could have a limiting bonus like a limiter saying, hey, this is only available for the next X amount of people kind of a thing so you want to have an urgency, a reason that your audience need to take action because The thing is also, if they don't take action now, they're never going to take action and I know that sounds harsh to say, but we all know that's to be true life gets busy.
16:26 Like think about this. You get a text message from a friend and you're like, Oh my gosh, that's so awesome. And then your daughter comes in or your son comes in or your husband comes in or your friend comes in and then knock on the door or the poster knocks on the door, right? Or something happens or the kettle starts boiling and the coffee starts going or the food is start cooking. Something happens, life happens. And then you look at it again, it's two hours later or it's a day later and you're like, I kind of started typing the one word and I kind of left it on dropped or, you know, busy typing and you never ever finished the typing because you had there was no reason for you to take urgency.
17:04 It didn't have something and said, okay, reply now. Do something now, right. So you want to actually make sure when you do a talk that you have the urgency built in you have a reason why they need to take action right now, right? So I know you're going to go, OK, this sounds all well and good, but certainly talk numbers like how do I actually make this, make this work because I know sometimes this is tendencies like, yeah, but I've done summits, I've done things like this before.
17:33 I'm going to ask you, were you in front of the right audience going to let it take in? Because a lot of times it's easy. Oh yeah, I've done this i've done this podcast or my friend invited me to do this and this and that thing, right? Was your audience at that event. And that's one thing that you need to actually look at going. Where is the audience it is the same as you jumping on social media it's the same as you jumping on Facebook and you're creating this post and just putting it out there, right? And The thing is you put out, you create a post, you do a reel, you put it out there and you are hoping that the algorithm shows it to you people.
18:06 You are hoping and how do I know this right, I've had a real rich 1 8 million views, 200 and 200 and something thousand six hundred something thousand. I've done those range of numbers, but how much sales that I make from it? Yep, a big fan 0 because it was placed in front of above a lot of people, but they were not my ideal audience. So I can't say. Oh well, it doesn't work. No, you need to be in front of your right audience right, So I can't say like, oh, this doesn't work that was your audience team.
18:34 So I want you to look at just think about this right now look at this event you are on this event you're you're watching this because you have a problem that you want to have solved. And This is why speaking is so important because you get to be in front of people that have a problem that you can solve like how amazing is that right? So before we get out of time, let's let's do let's do the numbers.
18:57 Everyone talks about girl math, but we can do speaker math my favorite thing so for the second, I'm going to go really, really fast. For example, if you're in front of an audience, let's let's be conservative here right now. You're front of an audience of 50 people, right? So you've got 50 people that are like, Oh my gosh, Cindy, this is so amazing. Oh my gosh, Lauren, this is so amazing i really like it. I really love what you're doing. I'm going to sign. I'm listening to you and 25 of those people were like, yeah, we want this. They sign up they sign up as a lead.
19:25 They maybe going to sales for whatever it is. But out of the 25 people, you convert 10 % and we're just going with 10 % we've been really conservative. I know most people's numbers are not 10 %, they are a lot higher. But we need to save for 10 % and that's going to put us on like 3 cells, right? And I know it's not, it's 2 and a half, but we can't have a half a person, right? So say for example, your offer right now is 2000$ So you've got a 2000$ offer that you've just sold to three people.
19:54 That means that this one talk has netted you 6000$ Like can we just can just let that sink in? You did one talk, say you showed up and you did a 30 minute talk. You had that amount of people go through a system like what would your life look like if from doing a 30 minute talk, showing up and then getting having a few conversations after that? If you then went and made 6000$ I mean, like, can I get a heck yeah, Like because I'm like, heck yeah, I'm down for that like I want that like let's do that but now let's think about it now you're like, Oh my gosh, I did that in one week.
20:30 What would I happen if I do that one every week for four weeks? That's twenty four thousand dollars. I don't know about you, but that's going to change a lot of lives. That's what some people make in a year and you've just made it in a month. But now you're like, Oh my gosh, Cindy, I really, really tweaked what it is that I'm offering or my coaching program or my product or my course or whatever.
20:52 And it's now no longer worth 2000$ because it's, it's so jammed back and loaded. It is now a 4K offer and you're like, cool, I update. You did nothing else you kept the same amount of closing, same amount of people that you're closing every week.
