In this episode, we're moving forward in our journey into the fascinating world of AI and ChatGPT two, powerhouse technologies that are making a big impact in the coaching industry. We are still in our series called Coaching in the Age of AI and ChatGPT, and we are exploring the mashup of coaching and these technologies. Since I started this series, Coaching in the Age of AI and ChatGPT, I've gotten a few questions about these technologies and I thought it would be great to answer a few of them. So in today's podcast episode, I want to take the time to answer these questions from you, my listeners. I believe they will benefit so many of you. So let's jump right in.

Chareen Goodman

In this segment, I want to kick things off with this question that I got as a coach running my own business. I'm curious about how AI and Chat PT can help me as a business coach. How have you personally used ChatGPT to optimize your own coaching business? Great question. Like many of you listening, I too am new to ChatGPT and I've been using it since February of this year. The best thing that ChatGPT does for me is 10-ing, my content game. I'm a business coach, not a content creator. Though I write a weekly blog, newsletter, and now a podcast, ChatGPT helps me write all of my content with such efficiency, and in record-breaking time, I have trained it to use my brand voice and then I apply my unique way of communicating and writing from there. For instance, as a business coach, I have to engage with my audience frequently, provide them with valuable content and establish my authority in the industry. But writing content is not my forte. Strategy is my forte. But in an online world, content is everything, so writing is critical.

Chareen Goodman

With ChatGPT, I can easily generate multiple ideas for my blog, for my newsletter, and even my podcast. I can refine those ideas and make them unique by applying my own style of communication, which is friendly conversational with a hint of humor. It saves me an incredible amount of time that I can now spend in other areas of my business, like client acquisition and serving my clients. What's really great about ChatGPT is that it can provide us with a solid base to work with. It can give us ideas, direction, and even a near-complete draft. But then it's up to us to add the final human touch to infuse our unique style and to ensure the content is in tune with our brand voice. In this segment, we will answer the question of how can ChatGPT be utilized to help with client communication and management in a coaching business? Again, another great question. So let me start with this vital fact.

Chareen Goodman

In today's online digital world, great communication is key. Whether it's with clients, prospects, team members or colleagues, effective communication is essential. So when it comes to utilizing ChatGPT, one way this tool can help is by giving you ideas on what type of communication to use in any given situation. For example, one of the best ways to use ChatGPT is when someone gives you what I like to call a salty comment on your LinkedIn post or replies in a not-so-cool way. Know what I mean? As a business professional, you need to communicate back in a way that is not offensive and always in a positive way that aligns with your brand voice. This is where ChatGPT can really help. With ChatGPT, you can get great ideas that can help you craft the perfect response. Just give it the proper input, align it with your communication style and then let it rip.

Chareen Goodman

Two. As a coach, we know it's important to maintain relationships with our clients and prospects. ChatGPT can assist in this by providing great ideas for communication. For instance, when you're communicating with clients, it's important to keep the messaging consistent. ChatGPT can help by providing suggestions for different types of messages for different clients. By doing this, you can ensure consistency while still providing personalized messages. And finally, when it comes to managing clients, communication again is essential. ChatGPT can provide suggestions for effective communication with your clients.

When communicating with clients, it's important to provide information that is valuable to them based on what you know about them, their needs, preferences, goals, pain points and aspirations. So here's the bottom line ChatGPT can be a valuable tool for you as a coach to use in your business that can help you communicate better with your clients and prospects, as well as help you manage your communications by giving you ideas and ways to communicate for any given situation. By utilizing this AI tool, coaches can determine what type of communication to use, provide consistent messaging, offer valuable information to clients and build long-lasting relationships.

Chareen Goodman

Right now you're tuned into the Crack the Coaching C.O.D.E.™ podcast, where we help you become a better coach and grow your coach business. I'm your host and business coach. Chareen Goodman, Founder of Crack the Coaching C.O.D.E.™ In this segment, we're going to address the question can ChatGPT help coaches generate new ideas for coaching programs or services? Okay, spoiler alert. Yes, it can.

Chareen Goodman

As coaches, we all face the same challenge how do we come up with new ideas for coaching programs or services that can help our clients achieve their goals? Right. This is an area where ChatGPT can really come in handy. It's an AI power tool that can help you generate new and amazing ideas that you would have never thought of all in a matter of seconds. But this is something that is really important to remember and to apply when using ChatGPT. When it comes to your coaching programs and services, being a great coach and serving your clients well requires having expertise in a specific area, a niche, a target market, and a clear message or mission. With these business fundamentals in place, ChatGPT can assist you in generating new ideas and insights by providing a wealth of information on various topics related to your coaching area. But here's the caveat ChatGPT is not a hands-off power tool. It's not a set-it-and-forget-it assistant.

Chareen Goodman

As a coach, you must have a good understanding of your niche and target audience. You must know what your mission or message is to leverage the power of ChatGPT effectively. ChatGPT is not designed to replace your existing expertise, but rather to enhance and support it. With its expert knowledge and helpfulness, ChatGPT can provide valuable insights and suggestions to help you better serve your clients and grow your business. For instance, if you're a coach specializing in communication skills, ChatGPT can assist you in handling sensitive communication situations. As an AI marketing and sales copywriting assistant, ChatGPT can help you create inspiring and humorous email messages that can impress your audience. The best part is that ChatGPT can provide you with insights that you may not have thought of on your own. It's a great way to get out of your own head and see things from a different perspective.

Chareen Goodman

So here's how I see it ChatGPT is the ultimate assistant to coaches that can help you generate new ideas and insights for your coaching programs or services. However, it's important to remember that ChatGPT is only a tool. As a coach, you must still use your expertise and experience to develop coach programs or services that can help your clients achieve their goals and outcomes. Welcome back to the Crack the Coaching Code podcast. So the question posed was, what potential pitfalls or limitations should I be aware of when incorporating Chat PT into my coaching business? One of the biggest pitfalls I believe, of using ChatGPT is becoming overly reliant on it. While ChatGPT can provide valuable insights and suggestions, it's ultimately up to you, as the business owner and coach, to make the final decisions and take action. In other words, don't let ChatGPT lead you. Instead, you must lead it.

Chareen Goodman

Another pitfall of using ChatGPT is its potential to make you become lazy in your business. Heck, I get it. As coaches, we are busy building our businesses, serving our clients, handling a life outside of work, and working to create that dream life we desire. So it's natural that when we find a power tool like ChatGPT to let it just run wild on our behalf. But this is a pitfall. It's important to remember that while ChatGPT is a powerful tool, it is still just that a tool. ChatGPT is a tool to assist you in your business. Just like any person you hire as an assistant, ChatGPT can help you save time and effort in so many ways.

Chareen Goodman

But it is essential that you maintain an active role in guiding and managing the tool as you guide and grow your business. And always remember it cannot replace the human touch that is essential for coaching. You must still put in the time and effort to achieve your desired outcome. So how can you do that with ChatGPT? Well, first, it's important to set clear goals and objectives for using ChatGPT. What tasks or areas do you want it to assist you with? This will help you stay focused and ensure that ChatGPT is working towards your overall business strategy. Second, you should regularly review and analyze the suggestions and insights provided by ChatGPT. Are they relevant to your coaching business? Do they align with your values and mission? If not, it's important to adjust and refine your usage of the tool. Cool?

Chareen Goodman

Now, isn't it thrilling to imagine a tool that can help us craft engaging content, answer queries and even support us in complex brainstorming sessions? But it's also important to understand the extent, limitations, and boundaries of this technology. So here's another limitation to keep in mind, and that is that ChatGPT may not be able to handle certain complex situations or scenarios. While ChatGPT is powerful, it is not flawless. And that's not necessarily a drawback. In fact, this is where we as coaches and as humans, truly shine. Let's take a practical example. Consider a complex coaching situation you find yourself in where perhaps a client is going through a major career transition.

Chareen Goodman

This requires an understanding of emotional nuances, the ability to provide empathy and strategic thinking aspects that an AI tool like ChatGPT may not completely grasp. This doesn't mean that ChatGPT is not useful, quite the contrary. So picture this it's late in the evening and you're working on a client's career transition strategy. You want to share some inspirational content or a thought-provoking question to support their transition journey. You could use ChatGPT to generate a few ideas. However, the magic happens when you, as an experienced coach, use your judgment to select and tailor these ideas into something that resonates with your client's unique situation, something that aligns perfectly with your coaching style and your unique brand voice. What makes ChatGPT a remarkable tool for its coaches is its ability to provide a wealth of information, generate ideas, and draft content for us. Yet it requires our human touch, our expertise, and our understanding to bring the information to life and to truly serve our clients in an authentic and humanistic way.

Chareen Goodman

In essence, this tool is like a power boost to our capabilities, but it doesn't and shouldn't replace us. So we always have to remember to double-check the content generated by ChatGPT to ensure accuracy and relevance and to make sure that the tone aligns with our brand. By working in harmony with AI tools like ChatGPT, we can combine the power of AI scalability and efficiency with our own human expertise and emotional intelligence. It's not just about AI or humans. It's about AI empowering humans. And that, dear coach, is a strength in and of itself. Well, that's a wrap for this episode of the Crack the Coaching C.O.D.E.™ podcast. But before we go, I want you to remember these three themes when it comes to using ChatGPT.

Chareen Goodman

One, ChatGPT can be a valuable asset to your coaching business, but it's important to be aware of its limitations and potential. Pitfalls ChatGPT can help you tremendously with your business. However, you need to lead it and not let it lead you. Two, it's important to note that ChatGPT is not a substitute for human expertise. While the AI tool can provide valuable insights and suggestions, it cannot replace the knowledge and experience that a human coach brings to the table. It's important to strike a balance between using ChatGPT to enhance your coach business and relying on it too heavily. And three, while ChatGPT can be a valuable addition to your coaching business, it's important to remember to maintain an active role in guiding and managing ChatGPT. By doing so, you can use ChatGPT to enhance your coaching business and provide even greater value to your clients.

Chareen Goodman

So how can you as a coach ensure that you have these elements in place when using ChatGPT? As with all things, when it comes to growing a profitable coaching business, having systems, a strategy, and structure in place is crucial. I want you to stay tuned because I'm actually opening my summer school program for coaches and consultants in a few weeks, and I think that if you really want to power up your game with AI and Chat GPT, I would invite you to consider enrolling in it. In this program, we will cover how to integrate ChatGPT into your coach business, how to create a system for using it, and how to develop a strategy for maximizing its potential into a personal game plan for building, growing, and scaling your business. Using AI and ChatGPT. So again, stay tuned and look for more details to come. That's all for today's episode of the Crack the Coaching C.O.D.E.™ podcast. Thank you again for joining us.
