Tune in, reset your energy, and reclaim your calm today!

Today, I’m talking about simple strategies to reclaim your peace. It's really important to do this at any time, but especially now, with everything going on in the world. We have the election season, we’ve had various natural disasters, and now we're moving into the holiday season.

One of the things we’re dealing with is feeling a little worn down. We’re starting to feel tired, especially when we're dealing with any type of turmoil. We tend to leak energy when that happens, and there has been a lot of that lately.

And then, of course, the holiday season pulls us in many different directions. So what strategies can we use to maintain or create peace around us and for ourselves? I’m going to be sharing some simple strategies that you can use.

If we start doing them now, at the beginning of October, by the time we reach the full holiday season—which really begins at the end of October with Halloween, and then Thanksgiving, and into the end of the year with Christmas or other holidays—we’ll already be ahead. It starts to feel like everything accelerates toward the end of the year, especially with the added energy around the upcoming election.

That’s why it’s so important to cultivate these strategies for your peace. That’s what I’ll be talking about. I’ll be bringing you simple things you can do to build or reclaim your peace and to focus on yourself.

As I posted today, you can’t pour from an empty cup. So, we need to make sure we’re prioritizing ourselves and filling our own cup first. I know when you hear that, your first thought might be, “How can I do that if I’m already being pulled in so many directions?” But the answer is to bring the priority back to yourself, even if it’s just for a short time.

You don’t need to set aside a whole day or hours and hours. If you do these simple practices every day, you’ll build the muscle for it. Instead of expending a lot of energy to reclaim your peace, you’ll be maintaining it.

I was thinking about how we maintain a car. When we buy a new car, we know it will be trouble-free for a while, but we still need to maintain it. Now, many of us aren’t driving “new cars” in terms of our energy system—we’re feeling depleted, like we need to regain our energy.

The practices I’ll be sharing help you build and maintain your energy. Instead of leaking energy and feeling constantly depleted, these strategies will help you sustain your energy, like driving a well-maintained car.

You can’t ignore maintenance indefinitely—eventually, things will break down. We need to bring our energy back and retain it so we can show up for others—whether it's our children, jobs, or elderly parents. Even if you don’t have kids at home, you’re still showing up for them in some way, right? Especially during the holidays, we’re thinking about how to connect with them.

So how do we bring our energy back? I’ll be keeping these sessions to about 10 minutes, and I plan to do them daily to help you build the practice. One of the things about a practice is that you need to make it a habit. Doing it daily, even for a short time, is far more effective than doing it once a month.

If you can, do self-care once a month—but many of us don’t have that luxury. That’s why the first strategy we’ll focus on is grounding. We’ll focus on it for a few days or even weeks because it’s fundamental. When we ground, we can release the pent-up energy and anxiety circulating in our bodies, and we replenish our energy by connecting to the earth.

When I first learned about grounding, I didn’t really get it. If you’re on my email list, I shared a simple grounding strategy—connecting to the earth and imagining roots. For a long time, I tried that, but I didn’t feel a difference. What was I doing wrong?

Well, for one, I wasn’t being consistent. If you’re just starting out, aim to ground at least once a day. If you can do it more than once, even better. It doesn’t take much time—just five minutes in the morning and five minutes in the evening. The key is consistency.

If there’s one practice that can truly transform your life, it’s grounding. The more you do it, even if just for a few minutes, the bigger the impact will be. Put a reminder on your phone to ground, and when you do it, bring your awareness into your body. That’s when grounding really starts to work.

Now, I’ll leave you with this: Instead of just imagining roots, try focusing on your breath. That’s how we’ll start moving into the body. If you can’t visualize, just focus on your breath, and that’s okay too. Start where you are.

So, focus on your breath—feel the air coming in and going out of your body. Do that five to ten times. If you can do the visualization of the roots along with it, you’ll get even more benefits.

Try this today, and any questions or experiences you have, post them, and I’ll answer them in the next session.

Remember, grounding is the first strategy. We’ll keep building on it, and I’ll be here daily to guide you through this energy reset. Try the grounding practice, and I’ll see you next time!
