Janeiro Blackmon [00:00:00]:
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, cats and dogs, today I want to talk to you about a quote that I came across earlier that really resonated with me. You know, I took some time just to sit with it and took it to the mighty table of the mind. And it comes from one of the great religious leaders in history, a guy by the name of Martin Luther, not to be mistaken, with Martin Luther, Jr. So let's dive into it. The quote is this he said, even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree. So what does this mean? Well, to me, after some pondering taking it to the mighty table of the mind, this quote represents a powerful lesson in perseverance, dedication, and the importance of never giving up on your dreams. See, Martin Luther understood that life is unpredictable and full of uncertainties. He knew that even if the worst were to happen, he still had control over one thing.
Janeiro Blackmon [00:01:03]:
What is that one thing, you might ask? He had control over his actions. And so he chose to plant that apple tree. He chose to take action to do something that would outlast him, something that would contribute to the world even after he was gone. He chose to focus on what he could control rather than worrying about what he could not. And that lesson, that is a lesson that we can learn from. Because no matter who you are or where you come from, you will face challenges. You will encounter obstacles in your life that seem insurmountable and setbacks, that make you question the path that you're on. But it is in those moments that you must remember my man Martin Luther's words.
Janeiro Blackmon [00:01:47]:
You must remember that even when the world seems to be falling apart, you still have the power to take action. You still have the power to plant your apple tree. And that tree may be sharing that business idea. It may be actually going out and registering that business. It may be actually writing a book. It might be publishing a blog post, mending a relationship or supporting a cause that you're passionate about.
Janeiro Blackmon [00:02:23]:
Whatever it is, it can be your legacy, your contribution to the world, and your way of making a difference. So, my friends, I urge you to take action today. Plant your apple tree, whatever that may be, for you, and know that even if the world does go to pieces tomorrow, you will have left a lasting impact on the world. You will have made a difference. And that is the greatest gift you can give yourself, your neighbors, your friends, your family. The greatest gift that you can give the world. Thank you for listening.
