In addition to being a writer of short stories and other professional materials, Dr. Doris N. Starks has had a career in Nursing Education Administration. Her last appointment was that of Dean and Professor of Nursing, as well as Founder and Director of the Community Health Center at Coppin State University in Baltimore. Dr. Starks has been on the faculties and leadership teams at Tuskegee University, Baltimore City Community College, and Coppin State University. She has also served in the U. S. Army Nurse Corps and at the U.S. Veterans Hospital in Tuskegee. Clinical practice for her Master of Science in Nursing was completed at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC, while enrolled at The Catholic University of America.
