Barbara Seaborn was raised in New England, graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, and moved to Columbia County, Georgia, when her military husband was stationed at nearby Fort Gordon in Augusta. A freelance writer and church musician, she has pursued both professions for most of her adult life. Her work as columnist and feature editor for the Columbia County News-Times led to her first local history book, As Long as the Rivers Run: Highlights from Columbia County’s Past, in 2011. Also, in addition to serving as organist and pianist at several area churches, she has written commentary for the Dayton, Ohio, Lorenz Corporation’s church music magazines. She has two sons, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
