Episode Summary

Join Kim and Jill in this enlightening episode where they dive deep into the concept of procrastination. Often seen as a negative trait, they explore its potential to serve as a powerful tool for intuition and self-discovery.

Key Takeaways

Procrastination's Dual Nature:

While commonly viewed negatively, procrastination can have positive aspects.
It may help in tapping into one's intuitive abilities by forcing you to let go of overthinking and judgment.

Intuitive Breakthroughs:

When deadlines loom, releasing control can open up pathways to receiving insights.
This "letting go" moment often leads to clarity and creativity flowing naturally.

Balance is Key:

Like all things, there's a balance; some take procrastination too far into self-harm territory.
Recognizing when it's time to act versus when it’s beneficial to wait is crucial.

Personal Experiences & Insights:

Jill shares her perspective on pushing through tasks without procrastinating—highlighting the need for listening to one's intuition regardless of approach.

Self-Acceptance & Growth:

Developing appreciation for individual differences rather than judging them fosters personal growth.

Practical Tips
If you find yourself procrastinating today, instead of harsh self-talk, ask what your intuition might be trying to tell you.
Acknowledge that sometimes waiting until the last minute allows ideas or solutions previously blocked by stress or pressure to emerge clearly.
Use moments of delay constructively by reflecting on internal messages you're receiving about your current path or project.

Closing Thoughts

Kim emphasizes embracing who we are with patience while recognizing different paths people take towards achieving their goals. The episode concludes with an invitation for listeners not only just accept but also appreciate their unique processes—including those involving delays—as part of life's journey toward understanding oneself better.

Enjoy your weekend! Until next time!

Hello everyone and good morning, Kim. Good morning, Jill. Good morning everyone. Everybody that listens, you need to know Jill has the most amount of patience ever for me. Just gotta say that. Just gotta say that. So thank you, Jill.

Okay, so today the word. There's a word that keeps coming to me. There's actually a couple words, but the one that stands out the most is procrastination. And I'm going to tell everyone I am the queen of this. Got way better. But for some people that you're starting to recognize or maybe you feel like you're somebody's telling you that you're a procrastinator or you should just stop procrastinating and just get this done and you start feeling the judgment coming towards you in regard to procrastination.

I will have to say for some of you that are listening, I hear majority of you, procrastination actually serves you well. It is not a negative thing in your reality. So everything, every emotion has like a positive and negative side. So this one for today, they're pulling more into the positive relationship with procrastination.

So when you're sitting there and the information is not coming through and you're actually overthinking things, you're being very overcritical, very overjudgmental. And then you finally get to the point where you're just like, screw it, I don't even care. You literally let go of like the feelings; you let go of whatever is stopping you and you're just like, then you just get it done. Maybe there's a time limit and you wait till that last minute and get to the point where you're just like, I really don't even care; I'm just going to do it.

They're like, that's the part when your intuition really opens up and you're actually in a place of receiving at that moment. So for you, that almost pushes you into understanding your intuitive abilities. When you are on a deadline or when somebody's saying you have to get this done at this time or just until you get to the point where you're just like, screw it, I'm done overthinking this.

I've done over this and I'm just gonna—whatever happens, whatever happens—and then all of a sudden it just flows very beautifully and they're like, see? So some of you do not judge the procrastination. If—okay, then they show me like overspilling—like I get my cup as full and now it's like overspilling. They're like, there are some of you that then go into deep judgment mode and then go deeper into that negative self-talk and then you really just don't get the stuff done.

Okay? They're like, that is the part where you need to understand that your body was designed to have some procrastination but use it as your benefit, not as a curse or as like, oh, this is just my fault. And then nobody made you feel that way; you did it to yourself on that one. We talk a lot about that.

But this is a part where your cup is full; you know you're coming up to a deadline; that cup is full. And then all of a sudden you take that cup and you're just like, screw it, I'm just going to drink the whole thing—just going to get it done—so like I really don't care. It just opens everything up for you because you just get in a moment where you're finally at peace with whatever happens; whatever the outcome is.

You don't have a judgment towards the outcome. That's so interesting because it's like what I hear you saying is the message is that procrastination can be a very powerful tool for your intuition. It's much like everything else; there's a balance to it; there's a positive charge and a negative charge.

Some people have taken it—a small percentage—it sounds like take procrastination to that really negative charge and kind of turn it into self-harm. But that's probably just more intensive call to your intuition; like you've been called to your intuition for years and years and not doing it and now it's getting more alarming message.

I guess for me, I've never been a whole lot of a procrastinator; I've been on the other side—I pushed—yeah—didn't listen to my intuition by pushing instead of procrastinating.

So yeah, this is fascinating to me because I never thought of procrastination as a tool for right for intuition. But I do know some procrastinators and I know some that are really hard on themselves. And it's just like—oh—for years I've been like oh what is it? And I never crossed my mind as tool for intuition.

I love that! Yep! They're not getting it any other way so their body—there's something that has been designed; then they designed that in their path to say okay we're going to go to this point to get you—to literally—when are you going to let go? When are you just going to say screw it? Whatever.

And sometimes we have to put that procrastination in our path to be able to see that—to realize that—to understand it. Yeah! And I think you've nailed the—you are very very very talented at this!

Great! I'm going to let it go! I've seen you do it so many times! It's very funny! But you laugh—I laugh—and that's where you take me for patience! Really? I'm like it's a kid's process! There's no patience! She is who she is—you just have to have—to have!

I think we all have to develop a greater appreciation for the variations of who we all are rather than the judgments of it.

Yeah! So if you're feeling like you are procrastinating today—this is interesting—I hear give yourself a pat on the back; like oh okay so we're gonna honor that—that doesn't feel right to me—my ego okay? Because then I'm encouraging the behavior—it’s not like we want that behavior to always occur—but if you feel procrastinating give yourself a pat on the back and say thank you for helping me recognize this!

What is my intuitive message for this? What am I receiving? What am I not being open to? Like just—and—and just tell yourself: I am here to allow it to flow through me—yeah I'm open to receive!

That's so sweet! I love—okay beautiful! Thank you Kim! Yeah! Thank you Jill! Thank you everyone! And it's a Friday here so enjoy your weekend! Until next time.
