Hello, our lovely listeners, and good morning, Kim. Good morning, Jill. Good morning, everyone. We have a song for you today. It's "This Is How We Do It" by Montel Jordan, 1995. I also felt like I was on Jeopardy or something. That's an interesting combination. Yep.
Okay, so this is how we do it. You will probably remember that song because that's the main words in it: "This is how we do it." So I had to look up the lyrics. I remember singing the song; I didn't know what the lyrics were and what it meant. It really comes down to this guy born in the hood. Think of somebody being born non-privileged—maybe they had some trauma, some struggles, parents didn't have a whole lot of money for them to be in sports and all these fun things, you know? Or just feeling like they didn't have what some other people had growing up.
But this guy, what he did was say that he took what he learned. This is kind of how I'm getting the interpretation too. Everybody interprets things a little bit differently. So this is kind of coming from energies around for you today that you might have come from a place that maybe didn't look pretty. Maybe you don't like some things that happened in the past, but you can look at them and be like, "Hey, they occurred for a reason." They were there to help me out. Like, I'm not going to be angry or frustrated with how they occurred. I'm going to take that and I'm going to have fun, and I'm going to pull in all these people that maybe I have a difference with.
So this guy in the song went off and partied—he partied with basically his enemies. Everybody put their differences aside; this is how we do it. They go and have fun together; they put their differences aside and just throw their hands up and say like, "We don't care! Let's go!" That's the movement of today. You're going to put your differences aside or judgments—however it looks—and you're going to have fun today with these people.
You might also hear something different about a person that you didn't know. Maybe you reflect back on your childhood and you're like, "Man, it really wasn't that bad," because look at all these people that I can get along with now that maybe I couldn't get along with before. Or maybe you were told to stay away from a specific type of crowd when you were little—your parents said, "Don't go by those people." Now you're hanging out with those people and you're enjoying it.
Pay attention today to all the fun energies that are coming around where we can all just put our stuff aside. What's that song? "We Are the World," "We Are the Future." Also, that song just pops up in my head and I want to wave my hands.
Exactly! So we are the world… yeah… in the future! Oh my gosh, that's a beautiful song! It is! And the message is beautiful as well.
We all collect all sorts of stuff throughout our lives and throughout our days, and we hold on to those things—it gets very burdensome to carry all that stuff along. That's what I hear: The message is to set that stuff down, and then what happens is we become lighter; we can laugh; we can enjoy life. You might hear it called sometimes a timeline shift or dimension shift—that's what that is.
All right, now I have "We Are the World" stuck in my head! Okay, that's a good sign!
It is! Thank you, Kim!
Yeah! Thank you, Jill! Thank you, everyone! All right, until next time!
