Hello, lovely listeners, and good morning, Kim. Good morning, Jill. Good morning, everyone.
So we were just chatting a little bit before pressing the record button. I was sharing with Kim a very sweet moment I had this morning while looking at the river, the water, and just soaking in the beauty of it and the calm of it. It was just a moment of awe. I was like, ah, it's like setting the tone for my Monday. You know, in the past, Mondays were always like, get going, let's get to it—you had to do stuff you didn't necessarily want to do. Instead of engaging that energy, I was really engaging that replenishing energy of the river.
Chills when she says it. Exactly. I love that you take the moment—you do this almost every morning—where you can sit back and look at what's going on around you and actually embrace the beauty around you. You do this so beautifully every single morning. And she tells me about it, and I'm like, oh, that would be great. So I'm that rush-rush person, and she's over here experiencing this for us. Sometimes we need to experience it ourselves because we're not doing it.
As she was telling me this, I got an image of water boiling on a stove. You put your water in there and let it boil, and all of a sudden you're like, wait, the water's almost gone. You didn't see it go away; you didn't see your energy go away. You didn't realize that you're burning yourself up until all of a sudden your energy's so low that you're like, I need to add more water. It's about being replenished. You don't realize you were that low until all of a sudden you're like, low.
You don't have to get that low. My old habit was not only getting low; I was just empty and would just keep going. We know what happens there—you eventually just crash. That's why I now love to take those moments to savor and replenish because it keeps me balanced. It brings a sweet joy to life that I was missing out on by pushing, pushing, pushing.
Ah, it's like I'm getting pulled to sitting in a rocking chair right now, just swaying back and forth like those old rocking chairs where you would see your grandparents sitting in them—just sitting there sipping on their coffee or tea in the morning while watching the sun come up. There's something beautiful about it.
Most cultures throughout the world have that experience; they may not necessarily be in a rocking chair but share that energy. It's kind of disappearing due to what we have here in the United States—but what does it matter what we have if we're so busy that we can never just sit and appreciate it?
So replenish! What do you need to do today to replenish? There are endless ways to do it—even if you're busy! Even when I'm busy-busy, I will stop sometimes; I'll place my hand over my heart for a few moments or take a few deep breaths.
Kim, what do you do to replenish when you've got a busy day going on?
I love to utilize my tools all around me—I'm lucky where I have my own bed and light therapy and things like that—but honestly, it's letting my mind wander. The visions of the water boiling almost cracks me up—where did that come from? It resets my thinking! Sometimes you just take that moment to stop and think about what's going on in your head; you can get replenished by your mind—that's powerful.
Yeah, that's really powerful! Sometimes you have to laugh at it too!
I'd say nature is my top one for replenishing me—anything nature-related—even just looking at it; I don't have to be in it.
Beautiful! Replenish is the word of the day—absolutely! I love it—and it's our action of the day too.
Thank you, Kim! Alright everyone, until next time!
