Hello, lovely listeners, and good morning, Kim. Good morning, Jill. Good morning, everyone. We had a nice long weekend.
Yes, we did. I didn't wake up feeling refreshed. And I'm tired. Oh, my goodness. What do these long weekends do to us? Like, my body is physically tired today.
And you had given a phrase as we were chatting beforehand here, shared a phrase: Oddly calm.
Yeah, it's like those things that stir us up that, what, you might have freaked out in the past or you might have, like, overly thought about or stressed about or overanalyzed, you know? Or, oh, why am I hurting? I shouldn't hurt.
Fact of—I have to laugh because all the hurt. Because we get old. We hurt.
Oh, my. Oh, my gosh.
No, it's weird because I'm trying to come up with the words and Jill and I were trying to come up with some words for this. And oddly calm—it's like the standard things that we might normally get ourselves riled up about—we're seeing it a little bit maybe differently or we're perceiving that a little bit more calmly, like, okay, what do we need to do? Okay, I—I have pain. Okay. This dream happened. But it's not like necessarily bad.
It's not bad. It's not turning into something terrible. It's more what we're looking at and you're kind of calm. It's a different state of mind.
Yep. And it gets a little—I love the stirring things up.
Yep.
And then, you know, being oddly calm about it.
And when you have those two—when—and you know because calm is usually like "ah," it's calm.
No, it's this oddly calm. So it's like, well wait, what's this?
Same with the stirring it up. Like, wait, what's this?
And these two things coming together—like our brain is going "wait, what is this?"
Which—our brain is us—and we're like going "what is this? This just..."
And like you said, it's a different mindset or it's a different perspective.
Yeah, it's definitely different.
And it—and you might be having a hard time perceiving—like we want to go into the—say—the past way that we would troubleshoot ideas or troubleshoot problems or analyze problems.
And it's different.
And you're not quite sure how to move forward because—you know—the old way—the old way is still there and it kind of wants to creep in but you're like that doesn't feel right either.
So you're like I'm not quite sure how to proceed with this because we're in an—we're in an unknown with it.
Like even I was describing to Kim something and I felt the old habit—I could like experience it trying to show up and then it would rise up and it would just collapse and then it would try again and it would collapse.
And then I'm sitting there going well if I can't do the habit—which clearly I can't—I'm in this like oddly calm space but I—I mean it's unknown; I don't—where do I go with this?
So then I just sat with it which is a little bit of a weird experience.
Yep. Yes. Super thank you.
Yeah.
And I keep thinking what are we supposed to do with this then?
Right? What are we supposed to do that?
I was like perhaps others are having somewhat of a similar experience or it filters through some way—you know—that has meaning in your life of what's going on in our listeners' lives that...
And to me what do we need to do with it is basically just sit with it.
You be with it.
It's that—stay with that oddly calm and go yeah clearly the ways I know how to do this aren't working because I tried them out of habit and they're not working.
And just sit with it.
Just be with...
Just remember Kim month year probably over a year ago and you were like yeah just be.
And I was like what does that mean Kim?
And here I am just be.
And I feel like I'm now suggesting just be and I'm like you could be the person a year ago that was saying what is it?
Kim's like I want to...
Yep. It's all good fun.
Yes. Laughing breaks up the tension; it just moves it too.
Moves it.
And I do think we just need to be and do that stuff again.
I don't want to and...
But it's more like leaving—I get a little bit...
Here's like what do we do with this?
We need—it—we need to leave a little space some time and opportunity for that unknown—that new thing—to come forth.
Yeah, I like that.
Yeah. Yes. Oddly calm.
And what was that oil? You were really drawn to an oil—Rosemary oil?
Rosemary oil!
You have that at home or you smell the herb?
Yeah yeah and I've used it and has its role in my life on occasion but today everything about it—like I could have a bottle of it and if I could go in that bottle and take a bath in it right now—I would!
Like that's how much my body wants rosemary oil!
So there you go.
Well we'll see where all these changes bring us huh?
Yep!
All right thank you Jill thank you everyone thank you Kim!
All right thank you for listening everyone and until next time!
