Another episode begins! I'm Robert Allen with Pickleball Brief alongside David Feldman, Editor-in-Chief of Pickleball Brief.

Today’s agenda includes discussing our team's visit to PickleCon in Kansas City and current trends in event marketing within pickleball.

We've always aimed to create impactful events as part of our platform's framework. The explosion of interest in pickleball means many new events are emerging alongside legacy players from tennis trying their hand at it too.

Executing an event well is incredibly challenging but crucial for success. RA's background includes trade shows and experiential marketing where technology was just beginning to measure engagement effectively—a game-changer back then. Fast forward through COVID times; face-to-face interactions remain irreplaceable despite technological advances like AI or bots which may lose novelty over time because humans prefer human interaction when making decisions about partnerships or purchases.

Our conversation today delves into whether traditional B2B events still hold relevance amid changing consumer behaviors similar perhaps even dying American malls unless they adapt creatively offering more engaging experiences beyond mere transactions ensuring value retention among attendees thereby standing out amidst competition...

While many are thriving, others struggle, but we can learn from those who succeed. The initial excitement of starting a club often gives way to the reality of running it daily. This involves various phases and skills.

Opening a club requires thorough preparation—understanding your market size and needs is crucial. For example, when RA was approached about starting a private club in Bowling Green, Kentucky, I asked if there had been any customer development conversations. It turned out no one had done proper research. So we went to public courts with questionnaires to gather significant feedback for decision-making.

Many overlook these steps and assume there's demand without verifying it through data collection and analysis. It's essential for business sustainability to know what people want and are willing to pay for.

Running a successful club means creating an exceptional experience that competes with free public alternatives like sunny days at open courts managed by tax-funded government orgs.

Our goal is comprehensive support across marketing, HR, technology, branding—all areas critical for gaining competitive advantage in this industry.

To summarize our event experiences: We support all event promoters working hard in the pickleball space—people like AJ from Pickle Minds Symposiums or Carl's World Pickleball Expo events in Vegas have set high standards with their initial efforts/versions.

Pickleball Brief has organized an online event coming up on October 17-18—the Pickleball Brief Business Summit—with expert speakers covering topics such as sponsorship procurement strategies or commercial real estate pitfalls which could sink clubs financially if not handled correctly.

This summit will provide practical content delivered efficiently over two half-day sessions so you can still manage your work while attending valuable presentations live or via recordings later on-demand access options available too!
