Today on Sapphic Rising™, we're talking about hitting the pause button. No worries, though--the plan is not to end the podcast. I'm creating space for building inventory and community, which'll integrate further conversations and impact.
To stay up to date on my behind-the-scenes moments, through written or video form, join me on Substack. Perhaps the podcast will ultimately migrate there--who knows!--but I'll let you know when I'm back at the mic.

Virginia James [00:00:02]:
Welcome to Sapphic Rising(TM), where we embody our creative muse, our wild authenticity, and share in a little bit of rebelliousness. Hey there, it's Virginia. How's it going? How's your day going? It is Friday where I'm at in the world, and I wanted to explain a couple things. One, why I've been away from the mic for just a little bit, actually, for a lot of bits. I think it's been a number of weeks now. And number two, I didn't want to leave you hanging, so I wanted to kind of let you know what's going on in my world and really what I'm thinking about with the future of the podcast. Number one, if you're new here, Virginia James, that is who I am. I am an author of WLW fantasy series, the Revival Series.
Virginia James [00:00:49]:
You can get that on my website at femininesagewisdom.com I am also an artist, and I've been an artist before, more personally, but I am making it really a good chunk of this business as well as the books. So it's pretty exciting. It's. How do. I don't want to say slow going, but when you're building an inventory, that's why I've been away from the mic. When you're building out concepts and inventory and producing, yes, still from the soul, not just for the sake of production, it takes some time. It actually takes, for me at least, quiet time, lessening the noise and also lessening the distractions. And I'm not saying you beloved listener or reader of transcripts, you are lovely to me, and I am so glad to have this podcast.
Virginia James [00:01:38]:
I actually love podcasting. I love conversations and storytelling. So you are not necessarily a distraction. But I've recognized that I need to be at the art table more than the mic right now. And so that's why there's been a gap of time from the last episode to this one. And then the other part that I want to talk about in this episode before I let you go for a wee bit, is that the future of Sapphic Rising. I know exactly what I want to do, and I'm really excited about it. I'd like to actually have more conversations.
Virginia James [00:02:10]:
It's not just me at the mic. I would love conversations with other fellow Sapphic wlw, lesbian, author, artists, crafters, those kind of folks. But the one thing, again, going back to me building out my inventory, my own work, that's where the focus needs to be right now. And also, let's be very honest and transparent with one Another we need to see what happens in where I live, where I reside in the US for these kinds of conversations to happen and then also just in the globe, in the globe, around the globe. You know what I'm saying? We need to watch that Sapphic queer two SLGBTQ people. We folks are facing yet another challenge as a community. Beautiful things too, with one another in kinship and also the heavy and the hard. So I want to be able to honor the future of this podcast.
Virginia James [00:03:06]:
Well, I don't want to half ass it, so to speak. I don't like doing things half assed and I really want to come with it, come at it with some intentionality. So that is why for now we are hitting we being me hitting the pause button for this podcast. I'm not going to delete it, I'm not going to take it down, I'm not going to unpublish it or whatever you do on the tech end. I'm going to let it just sit and be and I'm going to keep creating space while creating things and creating space for this. And I'm also going to keep working within community for again, fellow Sapphic WLW creatives, let me know if you have any questions. I have to get back to sketching out my my other piece. So thank you again for just being on this journey with me and for allowing me time and space and to build the energy properly.
Virginia James [00:04:09]:
This container that to me is incredibly sacred. And I absolutely, I love it. I love it. I love that we can have stories here together that you listen or tune into this podcast. However you do. And I deeply appreciate you for everything, whether you've known me for years or one hour or less. So thank you for being here. I will be back.
Virginia James [00:04:34]:
I will be back. And if you're a little witchy, the time just turned 12:34pm my time, a la 12:34. We're on the cusp of a black moon, another new moon. And so just take that in and let's just stay witchy together and I will talk to you soon. If you want any other updates, you can go to my substack. You can find me. I'll drop the link in the episode notes and the show notes so you can do that. Because writing is a little bit different for me than speaking into the podcast mic and building up these conversations like I want to.
Virginia James [00:05:12]:
So the substack will stay current. Follow me there, take the stories in in that space and I wish you so many blessings right now while we hit the pause button on this and be well. Take care of you. Take care of each other. We're on this road together, like I always say. And we've got this. I'll talk to you soon.
