Many of us are consumers of blogs. They cover a vast wealth of information and help us broaden our perspectives and knowledge. But when was the last time you took the time to comment on one of your favorite blogs? In this episode, I'm talking about the power of blog comments and why they can benefit you and the blog author.

Rob Winters: [00:00:00] This is the PodOps Media Podcast where we dive into marketing tips, tricks, and trends for entrepreneurs and small businesses. I'm your host, Rob Winters. Today's topic: The Power of Blog Comments.

[00:00:14] Posting comments to blogs in your industry vertical can be a powerful and free marketing tool. If you can add a unique perspective with additional information, or a point of view that will be useful to other readers. It makes a huge difference. And this is where the true value lies. People love having their blogs commented on, and it's something most of us don't do enough as blog readers. For the blog publisher comments also have the added benefit of being a positive impact on their search engine optimization or their SEO, and it can help their customers potentially become your customers.

[00:00:46] If your comments provide value, other readers are more likely to click on your avatar to discover who is behind the comment. This means you want to take that extra moment to create a profile on sites where you're commenting, even if it's not required. All of that said, don't use comments as an opportunity to spam blogs with links to your own website unless you've explicitly been asked to do so. You don't want to find yourself blocked.

[00:01:09] What are some of your favorite blogs to learn from? Give them a shout-out in the comments below on Facebook and Twitter.
