Rob Winters: [00:00:00] This is the PodOps Media Podcast, where we dive into marketing tips, tricks, and trends for entrepreneurs and small businesses. I'm your host, Rob Winters. Today's topic; Email Signature Marketing.

[00:00:14] According to Campaign Monitor, office workers receive an average of 120 emails per day, with the average inbox housing around 200 unread messages. These are composed of work, marketing, and spam emails.

[00:00:25] As a marketer, every email you send is a potential opportunity to book a meeting to discuss your services and your products. This is where you can leverage your email signature as a really powerful resource.

[00:00:36] To get started, you need to have some basics in place. First, know what your customers want and what you're trying to offer them. Second, set a realistic conversion goal for your signature. A good conversion rate for signature marketing is around 0.25%. Think of it like this. If you have a team of 10 and each person is in contact with 30 people per day, you could set a target goal of seven signature conversions per day. Third, you need to create a visually appealing signature that makes your call to action clear to the reader. For this I personally use MySignature.io. They offer a number of customizable templates and start at a cost of around $4 a month for a few dollars more. They can also provide you additional tracking metrics for certain inboxes like Gmail. Fourth, and finally, ensure the call to action in your signature links to a landing page that has been optimized specifically for this group of customers. Tailoring your landing page and ensuring there are no additional distractions will result in better conversion rates and fewer bounces.
