[00:00:14] Gathering lead contact information can often be a challenge. Many of us have the passive sign-up for the news at the bottom of our websites or occasionally in a pop-up. These work to a degree, but don't capture a large portion of website visitors' attention. If you've created an e-book, white papers, webinars, or even checklists, these are all items you can get.
[00:00:33] Gating your content means that in order for someone to view or download the information they need to enter some of their information, typically their name or an email. What information you ask for is totally up to you. But keep in mind that nobody likes to submit long forms. For gated content, ensure that you've created a landing page that focuses specifically on that content, why it's valuable, and gives a little taste of what the content is.
[00:00:56] Make the submission form easy to access, easy to use, and easy to understand, and only include the fields you truly need. If you'll be using these emails for marketing purposes, be sure to add an opt-in checkbox on your form to allow the individual to opt-in or out of future emails.
[00:01:13] You can test different types of content to see which performed the best and promote the landing page across your social channels and in your email signature.
