(25:07) folks listening to this, I want to be really clear that this is not just, if you're doing it therapeutically, that's why you play with psychedelics, there's preparation and integration. (25:19) It's not just like, let me go do a psychedelic. (25:22) It's not that way at all. (25:24) And so with MDMA, the impact of that drug doesn't make you hallucinate.
(25:30) It doesn't make you feel like you're floating. (25:33) What it does is it makes you feel really loving and joyful. (25:38) Like think of a time in your life where you felt like you were just emanating joy and love. (25:45) And that's what this MDMA does for you.
(25:48) So for the therapy to work, you have to have been working with a therapist who knows your deep, dark secrets, who knows that some bad thing happened to you that you just don't want to talk about. (26:04) And every time you try to talk about it, you fall apart because it's so overwhelming emotionally. (26:10) PTSD, horrible. (26:13) And so you take this drug and your therapist is there with you.
(26:18) And then while you're in this emotional loving state, your therapist pokes at you to get you to talk about your PTSD. (26:31) And so essentially the MDMA kind of bubble wraps you. (26:39) It's an oversimplification. (26:40) Bubble wraps you so that you're not as breakable and you can really go deep into talking about that PTSD experience.
(26:50) And then the other piece that it does, in my opinion, is that you end up getting kind of an overlay Every time you've talked about this really horrible, bad stuff that's happened to you, you've completely fallen apart. (27:04) Every single time, very bad, very horrific. (27:07) And suddenly you've now been able to talk about that with this overlay of joy and love because you're there with a therapist. (27:16) You really have had to be honest with them.
(27:18) It's not just like, otherwise you're just gonna sit around and be like, I love you. (27:21) It's really nice. (27:23) Oh, it's so nice. (27:25) I didn't do this with therapists.
(27:27) After I told you all that, but this is was.
